Could you believe for a moment that companies would use subliminal messages to get you to buy a certain product, or do something?

There is no doubt about it in my mind. Companies do use subliminal techniques to sell products. I have a degree in behavioral psychology and have read several books on the subject. The evidence is there, just open your eyes to it. Start with the book, SUBLIMINAL SEDUCTION.

Ok, now many are aware that they use subliminal messaging on TV to get you to buy a product, by making it look "appealing". this is supposed to say, f you buy this hemi powered dodge truck, (which, by the way, the Joneses just bought yesterday) you will be powerful, sexy, and admired not only at your workplace, but by those in your neighborhood, at your place of worship, and in front of your parents house. yes, this is common.it is a label thing many are after, to be like their richer neighbors, so that they can be prestigious and powerful, just as the Joneses. I have been victim of it. Buy a Toyota! it is the hottest thing going right now! it is small, but you will get better gas mileage, in todays overinflated society! know what? I paid 3 times too much, just so I could make my family members, and neighbors green with envy. it worked too. Oh yes! and my co workers. for some reason, they think I am better than the next person who drives a banged up old car, that is paid for. honestly, I think they made the better decision. at least they don't have another year to go at 400$ a month. I am buying used next time!(and not from the dealership!)

Except for commercial purposes, I've always bought slightly used vehicals. Whether or not to buy "new" comes down to how many miles you intend to drive the vehical per year. In commercial use I've needed to drive vehicals 50,000 plus miles per year. In such a case as this, I buy new. For my personal use which is less than 10,000 miles per year, I always buy used. Money-wise, this is the wise thing to do. It is only hype, peer preasure and advertizing that prompts people to buy new cars every 2 or 3 years. There is no economic good reason to do so. BTW: The small Toyota is a fantastic pickup truck. I've known several people who have used them in commercial service delievering the US MAIL and they were very pleased with the low maintenance and operating costs.

LOL! well, thank you! I have a leaky injector or something, because it tears through fuel like nobody's business! I was afraid there for a minute, that I might have "caved in" to subliminal messages. who knows?
