Would you spend $19 on a box of candy?

Just now I was surfing the Internet and found a website that offered delicious looking peanut butter candies. Problem is, they cost $15 to $19 per box. That amount of money could feed my family for two days! I'd never think to spend that much money on a temporary pleasure. Maybe ten years ago, when I was more careless with my money and didn't have a family to think about. What about you? Would you ever spend $19 on a box of gourmet candy? Have you ever done that?

No, I would just learn how to make something similar, that way you can get all you want and only pay for the ingredients (which can get expensive I imagine).

theres no possible way i could afford that for a box of chocolates. the most i have paid was like $8 and that was a special gift for my mum. $19 would get me to work for a few days and at the moment im trying to save every penny i can.

with a BIG NO. Why? because it's too much, you can buy more delicious peanut butter candies than that and plus the factor that candies brings more calories that you need to burn it... think of your health too... you might enjoy now but in future you don't know what will happen next...

no way buddy.... it's the same thing with me also.... i was such a spender of money that anything given to me will just fly off. But, now having learnt the nuisances of life and the importance of money i will never buy anything of that sort sending that a big amount.

Two years ago on our anniversary, my husband bought me flowers and a box of gourmet chocolates. My idea of gourmet chocolate up to them had been Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk ice cream. But when I started eating the chocolates out of that box, I found the true meaning of gourmet. I had never had chocolate that was so good I didn't want to swallow it! He said he got it from a gift shop at the mall and paid like $24 for 20 pieces. It's the only time I didn't chew him out for spending that much money on me! I would never spend THAT much on myself just for chocolate but I'll take it as a gift any day! $15... maybe. Every birthday I spend a little money to treat myself but it better be really good! LOL!

For myself, no I couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money on candy. But if it were for a family member or close friend who really loved this particular kind of candy, I could see myself buying it for them as a gift. I don't know why I tend to feel like I can splurge on others and not myself, but I do.

very good view of urs. really people should be ashamed of buying mere things for large sum as there are many who could make their day merry with that money.

It really depends on why. I wouldn't just by it for myself but as a gift, yes.

I sure would..I spent about 60 dollars on a box of chocolate covered strawberries that were injected with cognac..they were for my anniversary, so I thought they were worth it..

I can't say that I have never done that...but I certainly would not do it now. You are right, as you have a family to care for every dime counts and there is no room to spend that amount of money for candy. It is all a matter of priorities. cheers,

For me it depends on how good they are. For instance, I'm very familiar with Harry & David's truffles, and they're a bit pricey. But they're delicious. In my opinion, they're worth every cent. Not something that I would buy regularly or keep around the house, but they're a nice treat and when I do splurge on them, I take my time and savor them (a 1lb box tends to last me at least a week). The same is true for Godiva and See's candies, I'm familiar withthe products, and I love them. So it's worth the price. Would I spend $15-$19 on a box of chocolates from a company I'm not familiar with? No. I need a sample or a less expensive box to taste before I would spend that much money on them.

Hello beautyqueen26!First,I am not interested in peanut butter candy so they are not tempeting to me at all.Second,I thought it is too expensive and not worthwhile. There is only one exception that I will buy the candy---if it happens to be my beloved one's favorite and we are trying to find sth to celerbrate a special day---such as birthday.
