Worthwhile to potty train a cat?

Now that I have three cats, I have three litterboxes and would like to cut down on cleaning all of those boxes! That's when I thought about the possibility of training my babies to use the potty. I thought about questions such as the following: is any special equipment needed to toilet train a cat? Surely, a cat can't be held over the open bowl and be expected to pee or defecate. What if he wiggles too much and winds up falling in? (Heehee) About how long does it take to potty-train a cat? Then, assuming that the proper equipment is set up and you're ready to train your cat, how do you get him/her to sit and do his/her business? This all sounds like a lot of trouble, but is it worth potty training kitty? Do you really save yourself a lot of work cleaning out litterboxes? Help, before I adopt any more cats! I know that cats can be toilet-trained.
