Are You Verbal With Your Computer?

Now I just know we are all well-behaved ladies and gentlemen, with calm, placid, delightful personalities. Ah! But when it comes to the computer, do you let yourself go? Are you verbal with a computer and say things that would make a truck driver blush? Just when are those moments you lash out "words" to that computer of yours? Is it when you make a million typos...when the computer is slow...or just when you do something plain stupid? With me I think it's a combo of all three I just mentioned. Aren't you glad your computer can't talk back to you? LOL

Oh yes, I curse at my computer and often, and lately I have been pissed that I bought this new computer and I have to turn it off several times a day cause pages won't load, which really pisses me off since I purchased this computer to be an upgrade from my previous computer, yet I never had to turn off my other computer for days. I am thinking it is the Windows Vista program, which I really don't like.

Does Firefox have tabs like Internet Explorer 7 has?? It is probably my own fault, but when I am online I open usually 5-7 tabs (different sites) and I go back and forth to them all day, not to mention pulling up emails from myLot of my friend's discussions, this rebooting several times a day is for the birds.

I have "tabs" too, but I never try to have more than three or four at a time open...One time I had a lot of sites open not realizing it and I actually got a little alarm thing go off--I had too many open--and actually my computer does talk to me ...like it'll say..."Excuse me, Firefox needs your attention"--so my computer does talk to me ...but nicely

Well right now I am on my laptop and it never lets me down. But now as for my desk computor well it is a piece of sh!t right now and has crashed on me two times in the last two months and I yell at it all the time, if it could yell back at me I would be in so much trouble.

I most definitely can be vocal at times with my computer, mainly when it is going slow or has frozen up. Anytime something goes wrong with it, I may have a few choice words for my computer or the internet or maybe a program on my computer. If things are going well, I say nothing. Sometimes I will be playing a computer game and it will go really slowly and I run out of time on the game. LOL

Mmm...maybe we should praise our computer, like Saigonwarrior suggested when things go right...new concept for me...LOL--I just rant and rave when things go wrong

The words that sometimes comes out of sweet and innocent brendalee's mouth would shock you. I go for the long, multiple bad word sentences.lol. I do alot of things on the computer so it is easy for me to come across spyware and then it freezes up my computer. And that does not make me happy. Lately I have been having an issue with my internet going down. I have to restart the computer and that really makes me mad. Its a good thing I live in the country.

I am verbal when it slows down from some nasty piece of spyware. Then I have to stop what I am doing, scan and remove the baddie. I usually have a few choice words for the spyware. Also when the internet connection slows, I try to coax my computer into loading quicker..lol Come on..you can do it...I know that you can..I have seen you load it before...then when it loads, I praise it..lol SEE, I knew that you could do it! Maybe clap a little to make it feel good, you know, all of that "normal" stuff. Crazy, I know, but if you spend enough time at the computer it becomes like a part of the family ..lol..

Yes, there have a few occasions when I've gone off on my computer. It's usually when it's starting to get very slow or starting have a melt down when nothing is working. I don't think I say anything the would make a trucker or a sailor blush but it's def. entertaining for my husband to hear. Oh and yes I am glad my computer can't talk back because I am afraid of what it might say to me.

I think most of my verbal abuse with my computer is simply when I'm not doing things fast enough or make a million typos--can't help what my cats think when they here me rant and rave though

Hi, Yourcomputer might not talk back to you but It does communicate with you on different things, someimes it tries to do what it wants to do I get mad at my computer sometimes, when I can't get it right, I just shoukd it down, because I don't have the patience.

I am so glad my computer can't talk back. I can talk like a sailor (or truck driver) to it when it acts up, and I'm sure glad no one is usually around when I'm ranting and raving. My husband gets a kick out of hearing almost screaming coming from my home office at times. He knows I'm talking to the computer and not to anyone else. However, I will try to remember to praise it when it does good...LOL.

Humm...well to be honest I wouldn't say I'm that well-behaved. Though I try my best... But to answer your question - OH YES do I get down right sailor-isk with my language when either of our computers starting acting goofy. It was much worse though when we had dial up internet connection. And even worse when we had AOL as our server with our dial-up because we were ALWAYS getting kicked off. But those days are long gone thankfully...and since we've gotten our Dell desktop it's not been so bad either. As a matter of fact either my connection right now is being slow or mylot is one. And it's making me a bit frustrated.

When you computer is running low, you need to delete cookies, that will make it run faster. I do this all the time especially if I am on Mylot for a long time. after I delete cookies it runs much faster. Try it!

Luckily I use firefox which does that automatically. And that wouldn't be the problem anyway if just one site is running slow - which was the problem the other day. Plus I'm using a wireless connection and at times the connection is a little off. Thanks for the advice but I do a few things about computers and how to keep them running smoothly :)

I usually don't talk or yell at my computer other than ot curse Microsoft or Yahoo...lol I don't use four letter words if I can help it. I think eventually the computer will be able to talk back and it won't be pretty...lol

Oh...my goodness then you must be polite not to use four letter words...Before I got my own computer I used to go to the library or a Net place...there were a bunch of regulars there at the Net..so one day I'm sitting next to a regular and the computer wasn't behaving itself..and started yelling (not too too loud) at it...the guy said.."Let me know when the computer talks back to you." LOL Oh yes, good thing they don't talk back to us

Oh yeah! I'm the combo type too. The things I have said to my computer aren't even close to resembling anything ladylike. LOL And if it could talk back to me, I can just imagine the cussing out it would give me.

I'm glad you caught yourself dreaming there...lol, well behaved lady is a definate stretch of the imagination. But actually I don't talk to my computer at all when the excessive mistakes start I figure it is time for a break, so I go refill my coffee cup and talk to the cats. When I have relaxed enough, I peel the kitten off my leg or foot whichever he is attached to and return to my computer for my abuse.

lol...I have found that it is always a good idea to keep people guessing since it is better for them to put their foot in their mouth than for you to put your foot in your mouth....:}....that of course is presuming the foot still goes that high...!

About the only time I get verbal with my computer these days is when I'm playing games. You should hear some of the words that come out of my mouth, pyewacket. My boyfriend laughs and laughs as he points out to me that it's only a game. Well, when I'm playing a game, I go all out. No game is going to cheat me and get away with it,LOL!

Sometimes I almost HIT my computer, never mind swear at it. :) I get mad when I'm doing something, and have to flip from site to site, and the computer just takes ages to load every page. I mean, it's a new computer! Why is it so slow? It makes me seriously angry. xD

I tend to swear at my computer when it's really slow. I get really impatient! But, I think at school is the worst time for me because their computers are really bad...slow as snails and have annoying cryptic messages that pop up when you're working! Then you lose your train of thought and everything just goes down hill from there. I think the teachers turn a blind eye now but my friends like to have a good laugh about it. XD

I get so impatient too...and I have DSL so my computer is actually quite fast but even then every once in awhile it'll be slow--Sometimes when I'm at a friend's house and they have a computer they'll let me use it for a bit..they are all on dial-up...it was because of that I swore I'd never resort to dial up---would drive me nuts
