Oh! I miss my garden! Since we moved into an apartment, we no longer have a place to put a garden. I had thought of trying to grow one or two things in pots on the balcony, but it just never happened this year. Perhaps next Spring, I can get the pots and plant tomatoes, cucumbers and zucchini!

You are very smart in doing what you can to save money. My husband lost his job in June. We would have been in really big trouble financially if we hadn't been saving for years for our retirement! Of course, we are still way off from a retirement, but it has come in handy to keep our house, pay for utilities and buy groceries.

I noticed the same thing about many of my friends a month or so ago. I went through and deleted a few that hadn't been on mylot in more than 18 months! But with as many friends as I have on my list, it will take me quite a while to really cull through everyone. Many that were very active when I first joined mylot almost two years ago, are no longer here.

Well, it's now Saturday evening! I am trying to go through all my discussion e-mails this evening, but I am very far behind! I'm having issues with my back and am waiting on a neurosurgeon's consult with my doctor to see what we're going to have to do. It's most likely that there will be another surgery in the future, but in the meantime, I'm either in bed, on the couch of in my rocking chair...

If you will notice that many of those mylotters who do post so many discussions, often have dozens that are never answered because they aren't really good discussions. I am very leery about answering those discussions that are only one or two sentences about things that don't mean anything. How awesome! We've been to those dinners before! My mom invited us to one that was to show us fire safety equipment. We got a free dinner, a kitchen fire extenguisher, and 40% of a new smoke detector that would run even when it was melted! Ours in the house was going out and we were going to have to purchase a new one anyway...so we definately took the 40% off!

Well, there have been several times that my husband and I have had to deal with long distances between us. When we were dating, I went to school for a year in another state. We only saw each other occasionally. Then he got out of high school and went into the Navy. We didn't see each other until the night before we got married. Then after we were married, he was gone for three months at a time...

This is my favorfite time of the year! A month or so ago, hubby and I got in the truck and drove to Northwest Arkansas to Fayetteville to go to a football game. The highway between here and there goes through some beautiful mountainous areas and the trees were absolutely gorgeous! I'm including a picture that I took of some of the trees.

I guess the same reason that other things have! I have found that it is much cheaper to make my own soups anyway. You can make a huge pot of potatoe soup for about $5, and my recipe makes the equivelent of 25 condensed potato soup from Campbells. I also hesitate to purchase canned soups because the greasy broth has so much fat and sodium in them that they are really unhealthy! If you let a bow...
