Of course I know that this means to simplify the Bible, but because it has also a personal messages of God to every beliefer (sometimes also for non-believers), I'd like to know which sentence is the most significant for you, the one where the Lord speaks to you and about you. Here is mine (1 Timothy 1:15) Faithful is the saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

My favorite is Psalm 23. The Lord is my sheppard, I shall not want.... I love it and say it to myself. I don't know why I love it so much, but I do. There are others I like but Psalm 23 is my favorite.

This Psalm is so beautiful because it expresses a total trust in God and a very close relation. We are like sheep -silly sheep that need to be taken care of- but we follow the shepherd and know we can trust him, because he will never fail us.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" This is from the bible and its a verse that I can live by. I'm spiritual rather than religious but there is truth almost anywhere you want to look for it.

I find that more non-religious people live by that rule than the very religious ones do. After all, look at the religious terrorists and the way they are attempting to destroy anything they don't agree with

I love this verse, since it shows that the earth one day will be inherited by righteous and mild tempered people: Matthew 5:5 Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth. This verse is a quote from Psalm 37 which talks about the same thing.

This is a very beautiful verse. It confirms that the victory belongs to those who prefer being a looser in the eyes of the world to conquering by force.

I have 2 favourites that I often quote to smarmy people. "Judge not, lest ye be judged and found wanting", and " let him who is innocent cast the first stone". Since I am constantly being ranted at because I'm atheist, I find them most pleasing.

And you are right to use them, whenever people wants to judge you because of your (un)belief. The verse I cited does just the contrary, it judges nobody but shows Jesus' love and our personal unworthiness... Thanks.

I always love to read Psalms 96 the whole chapter that is why i memorized it when i was in highschool. I also love this one-- Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."--I always read this verses when i am worried..and it helps a lot.

hi vivienna! I have favorite selections in the Bible. This holy book is the place where I draw my strength. God has so much promises to us. :) Right now, the most significant verse that I have is from James 1:2-3 which states, "Consider it joy when you fall into various trials. It's because your faith is tested.. Endurance should come so that you will be mature and complete, not lacking of anything." I can't memorize all the lines, but it sounds like that. :) Also, I love this one: "Be still and know that I am God." I forgot if it's in what book, either Psalm or Proverbs. It was just short, simple.. But in those 8 words, everything is said. :) God is God. He can make all things possible. He is truly amazing! :)
