I became too old for Christmas about 50 years ago. I believe Christmas is pure Commercialism, and if The Christian religion was following their teachings they would immediately outlaw Christmas. Christmas is a fake. Its all about selling and buying! I hate the continuous music and advertisements. Christmas is not about the birth of Jesus, because he was born in March (if he was born at all?) | barehugs responded to a discussion called Tell me the truth---Do you always do what the doctor says? in health. 5 days ago
I don't trust any doctor any further than I can throw him/her. I haven't had a medical checkup for 30 years, and I have no intention of getting one anytime soon. A doctor is a trained professional. His training includes finding anything he deems unhealthy. Because he's trained to find a problem - make no mistake, he will find a problem, and will prescribe a chemical drug to eliminate this suppo... |
 | barehugs responded to a discussion called Anyone who doesn't think Prs. Obama bowing to royalty is demeaning... in politics. 4 days ago
When we toured East Asia, we could not communicate with the people who ran the restaurants or those who served us at the hotels. It is their custom to bow, (they do not touch as in shaking hands or hugging)We felt quite out of place just standing there, and soon began to return their bows. This gave us a good feeling, and was in no way demeaning.
Do all Americans feel that to bow ( in lieu of ... |
 | barehugs responded to a discussion called Have you ever gone without a cell phone for a period of time? in cell phone. 4 days ago
I have gone without a cell phone for almost 76 years. I did buy one about 2 years ago and it cost me $1000.00 to keep it for 6 months (by the time I bought my way out of the contract) Since then I have made do with a computer using Skype, and a landline. I have a good digital camera, and I use my computer for business as well as pleasure. Who needs a cellphone? |
 | barehugs responded to a discussion called How can we describe love of couple sleeping in same room but on different beds? in love. 4 days ago
I'm surprised at the Store Representative's naivete. First of all, he was completely out of line to make any remark about his clients sleeping habits, and secondly he has had very little experience in bed. After hes been married for 20 or 30 years he will (hopefully( gain some expertise. Whats so wrong about sleeping alone after an hour of lovemaking? And why not make love again in one bed afte... |
 | barehugs responded to a discussion called Does yoga help eliminating problems or give birth to new ones? in yoga. 4 days ago
Speaking as a Yogi who has studied and practiced Yoga for more than 30 years, I am not surprised that a modern Doctor would advise against it. The present day Doctor is drug orientated, and any other mode or method is foreign to his medical mind. Yoga never ceases to amaze. I've seen women who could not conceive, get pregnant 6 weeks after beginning a yoga course. My wife controls her high bloo... |
 | barehugs responded to a discussion called Is complete devotion to a religion wrong? in religion. 1 day ago
Organized Religion is the Greatest Scam that was ever perpetuated on humankind. Neither God no Jesus ever said a word about starting a religion. Organised religion was begun by men who saw an opportunity to make money by monopolizing God's word and a factitious story about Jesus. They seized the opportunity and their Grand scam has grown over 2 millenniums into the Biggest, Most wealthy, Most P... |
 | barehugs responded to a discussion called do you practice tithing- giving to charities or church 10% of your salary? in life. 1 day ago
Giving to others, and giving to a Religious Organization are not the same. When you give to a poor family down the road, you can see the kids eating healthy food, and you can see shoes on their feet.
When you give to a Religious Establishment the money is instantly gone from sight. It goes into the coffers of the Church. Yes the Church Officials will tell you how much they do for charities, bu... |
 | barehugs responded to a discussion called 2 kinds of sinners in life. 11 hours ago
I have no worries about sinning. My God is a Loving God, whose love is Absolute. Can you imagine God's Love being any other way?)
The God of Religion demands to be worshiped. He commands his followers to fear and obey. To refrain from sin lest you burn forever in Hell.
My God permits me to live without the fear of hell-fire. I am not asked to obey, never hounded to go to church, and my child... |

My mom said nothing about watching over me, or keeping me safe. It seemed to me she was busy with her new life and was not concerned (in the least) with me, or anyone else on earth. She did not appear to be an "angel," she was just as she had been here on earth. Please do not read religion into my response! |

| 1 year ago Thanks for accepting my FR. I hope you will find my discussions interesting. Please don't take it personally if I don't respond to every comment but I assure you I will read them all. If I don't respond it's probably because I agree with what you say and can add nothing to it. But I will rate each comment I find positive. Thanks again. MTAM | | newadd (2846)
