So Bellamy and Cisse are going out of Liverpool and another striker Voronin of Ukraine is joining Liverpool. The number of strikers in Benitez's team is just swelling now. Will Voronin get a starting call up or do you think he just there to strengthen the squad? Cheers! Ram

Have read that Voronin is quite an intelligent player. Perhaps he can be our 'Berbatov'? :) I really hope Benitez is right about Torres tho' - I've seen him a few times in the Primera and he doesn't look all that impressive... misses many chances...

Torres has been prolific in the La Liga, though against tough teams I agree he seems to struggle a bit!! Cheers! Ram

if Voronin is half as good as Berbatov was for spurs last season he will do for me...got a real good feeling about the reds this year...i really think this is our year...plus made we have got Carson back and got rid of Dudek...did you know Dudek was getting £100000 a week for keeping the bench warm??? Still wont forget Dudeks saves against AC in Istanbul (or his two blunders against Man utd at Anfield which ciost us that game)

I think that night in Istanbul was why Dudek was still earning the money to keep the bench warm. Now, he is off to Real Madrid. Good luck to him and Madrid. I saw Voronin in the first warm up game for Liverpool. He scored two good goals... Hmm... you are right there is a right feeling going on for the reds this year. Cheers! Ram

herd bad reports about Voronin from his days with Bayer leverkusen but sometimes players need a fresh start and a new motivation...Thierry henri was going nowhere till he came to Arsenal for example now lots of people rate Henri one of the best strikers in the world...i think Benitez idea is to have 4 strikers for his squad to provide as much variety as well as cover for injuries...Torres on paper would be first choice..the problem is who does he play with? This is up to Crouch,Kuyt and Voronin to prove what they can do..in preseason Kuyt appeared to link well with Voronin...personally from what in have seen so far i think this LFC team will not struggle for goals...Voronin to me seems to be ideal to link with any striker...he is quick, strong on the ball, holds it up well and plays neat give and goes which defenders hate to del with..so for me id like to see Voronin paired with Torres or Crouch...Benayoum and Pennat if he plays to his best will also provide asmmunition....whetehr we can score more goals than we concede is another matter...i still think we need an experienced left full back to complete the puzzle...still asusual every new season brings new hope...i think we will be there at the top again but UTD and Chelsea are still very strong squads too!!

I actually liked what I saw of Voronin in the first warm up game. He seems to be an intelligent player rather than a class player. I think that might sit in well, especially in close matches with top four where it takes either a minute of brilliance or a minute of quick thinking to differentiate between teams. Cheers! Ram

sure.. i see where you are comimg from.. a lot of times at the top level of football it is quite often the one touch or the killer pass that can decide a game ..and as you say Voronin may well fit the bill there..shame to lose Garcia though....despite giving the ball away too much he always had something to give especially in the top games you refer to....

I'm still not entirely convinced with Voronin, but i haven't seen him yet, so i won't make any judgments just as yet! Love it that Torres has signed for us!

liverpool have signed the most number of players in this post season. and most of them are good from what i have read. but how many will be left on the bench need to be seen. vovarin is a superb player. he has got great skill. but we dont know what rafa is planning. bellamy left cos he doubted his place in the squad after the arrival of so many new faces. cisse was already going to go last season but his broken leg put a halt to that. now both have left. i think liverpool will be tough contender for the epl title this season transfer rumors http://epl-league.blogspot.com/

I think they have already signed around 11 players this season!! That's a completely new team on the bench this year!! Cheers! Ram

Torres,Voronin,Benayoum,Babel,Leita,Leiva,Mykylov, all new...Benitez has said there willbe 6 forwards vying for 4 positions...players out Garcia,Bellamy,Cisse,Dudek,Zenden...we have still roughly same numbers but better quality which is what Benitez is always about....stil think he lost us the Champs league though with his choice of team on the night...AC would noyt have coped with Crouch on for 90 mins...still he wil get forgiven for thatif he lifs the Premier League....we have to win it this season cos if UTD win it again they will equal LFCs record of 18 championships won...!!!By the way...it is now seventeen nyears since our last league win....it was also 17 years in 1964 since our previuos Championship...co-incidenc?maybe not time will tell!!

Af far as I have heard this Voronin is a decent player. Should do well in Liverpool I think for the time being he has been brought to strengthen the current sqaud. But who konws what Rafa has got in his mind.
