My goodness, a trip to the walmart tonight found me in awe. I hadn't realized milk had gotten so expensive. For a gallon of walmart brand 1% milk, $4.37!! Good grief!

Oh, my gosh. I bought 2% yesterday at Walmart yesterday and it was $2.99. When I was in Florida last week, I bought the same for about $3.35. Where are you from that it is that high?

I live in Virginia, about 45 min from Richmond and Fredericksburg. I wish it was that cheap here, it is ridiculous, my oldest son could drink almost a gallon a day if I let him.

Our milk in Wisconsin, or rather eau claire is still under or around 3 dollars. It is getting crazy how it it is getting.

Thanks for everyone's responses. At least I know that it isn't just a regional thing. I am so tired of prices going up on the basic neccessities of life. I wish they would raise the prices of things that I don't need to survive instead.

We are very lucky here because every week either Albertsons or Smith's has milk on sale for something like three gallons for $6 or two gallons for $5. Like I said, we're pretty lucky here when it comes to milk prices.

When I go to the Milk cooler I have to sigh. Milk has become to overly priced the other day my hubby said "hell we should just buy a cow" Here in MI it is up to $3.49 a gallon for 2%. I know just last year I could get a gallon for $1.98 those were the days. *sigh* My crew could go through 2 gallons a day if I would let them. As it is we buy about 5 gallons a week. It pains me to buy that many.

The cheapest I've seen here is $3.89 for 2%. The last time I went to Wal Mart I think milk was around $3.97 or something like that. I can't believe how expensive it's getting.

Yes, the price of milk has gone up. Not only has the price for milk has gone up, but also the price of cheese and corn has gone up. At walmart the cheapest gallon of milk is about $3.50. At the Dollar General store it is $4.75 a gallon. All of these items went up because the price of gas has went up. I hope they lower them soon.

I noticed today that they had marked up the milk at the grocery store here to $3.29 a gallon. Luckily, the store brand was on sale for $3.19 a gallon, which is what the other brand had been previously. I can't imagine having to pay much more than $3.50 for a gallon of milk, though!

The whole milk is about $3.98, 2% is $3.79 and the skim is $3.70. The prices have been going up due to the "gas prices" but I think that is a big steaming crock. Everyone is looking to make a profit off the big "gas shortage".

I am assuming a gallon is equivalent to 4 litres. We get our milk in a 4-litre bag of 3 carton sized bags of milk. We pay $4.49 for 1% depending on which store you go to, but basically it is $4.49 Canadian.
