Today I am practicing an age-old cop-out. Today I am a "no-evil" monkey. Have you ever seen the "no-evil" monkeys on someone's shelf or in a store? There are four "no-evil" monkeys in all...today I am 3 of them. The 1st no-evil monkey covers his eyes. Below him reads: "See no evil." The 2nd no-evil monkey covers his ears. Below him reads: "Hear no evil." The 3rd no-evil monkey covers his mouth. Below him reads: "Speak no evil." These are the three monkeys I am today. Have you ever been, or are you normally, a no-evil monkey? Think carefully before answering if you have never, ever seen a set of no-evil monkeys taking up space on a shelf, hearth or desk. The 4th no-evil monkey just sits there looking dejected. Below him reads: "Have no fun." So, which combination of no-evil monkey are you most prone to being?

Hey Shannon, I've seen the "no-evil" monkeys on a number of occasions. Just to hazard a guess I'd say that most of us fit into one category at one time or another. What's most important is whether or not it's a constant state . You done more than your fair share of reporting to Mylotters and others so We'll let you slide once in a while:-)

Thanks, buddy. I'm copping out for a day on advice of friends here at myLot...and the fact that I'm off to go view some James Dean memorabilia at the James Dean Museum in town here in a couple hours or so. After that, I'll be working and probably popping in once in awhile here. As my younger cousin so bluntly states from time to time, "I ain't hearin' no hate today." :D

We had a pretty good time. They had Garfield stuff in the museum too, since Jim Davis is also from Fairmount. It was kind of like a time warp jumping from room to room. 1930's baby pictures & stuff of Jimmy's when he was little (yep, the older folks that knew him or at least his family still refer to James Dean as "Jimmy") on to his highschool accomplishments (apparently he drew, painted and sculpted on top of acting...and was a great student), on to things from the 50's like his phone, rocking chair, photos, his old motor cycle, etc...then BOOM! we are in the 80's surrounded by orange cats, yellow floppy-eared dogs & large-eyed cartoon people, lol. Back to supporting Ron Paul...

I figure it's easier to keep it in than to keep it from coming in so I'm a 'speak no evil' monkey. Besides, it's tons more fun to shuddup and let the nasty ones get what is coming to them without my helping it along. LOL

I am just beginning to learn the art of "shuddup" myself here lately...except on the truther issues, that is. Time for me to step down and let someone else put on the troll-crushing super-cape, lol. Thanks for stopping by, Rosie, it's good to see ya.

It's good to see you, too. I hope you begin to feel ok with whatever you contribute. When you do it's never the same ol' same ol' that others are constantly dishing and I'm thankful for you!

Yeah, I think sometimes I just do the monkeys without having to try so hard. I prefer to be the 3rd one alot more than anything.

I wish I could be the 3rd one more often, Lydia. I honestly do, but I feel an obligation to my fellow man to inform on the evils that take place right under our very noses...now as far as speaking lies & carrying tales, I'm totally with you on not speaking that type of evil...there are way too many people that practice that in the world already.

Lol..I'm a monkey frequently, but I'm afraid I'm rarely ever one and third and first monkeys. Though I'm probably the fourth one more than I'd like to think. I'm usually always the 'speak not evil' monkey, in that I try not to lie unless it's necessary, talk bad about people, over generalize, etc. Mostly..'cause I can't shut my brain off, and my curiousity seems to fuel most of my brain's thoughts..so seeing, hearing evil..is nearly my job. Even though it does wear on me sometimes.

Yeah, I play the role of the 4th monkey most frequently, but I think it's mainly due to the fact of seeing, hearing, and speaking of evil on a near daily basis...that certainly isn't any fun. I feel ya on the curiosity gig, too. I have always questioned almost everything--particularly when the "official" story doesn't add up...even on a more personal level, my boys know they can't think of I lie that I didn't tell (and most likely get by with) as a teen. Question everything. Sounds fair to me. If the story jibes, there's no need for questions. That's the problem with liars, they rarely remember all the tiny details & that's what gets them caught...straying from the topic again *tightens reigns on topic* Sometimes being a monkey can be a great stress reliever...and we had an interesting time looking at James Dean & Garfield relics the other day, btw.

I am not very good at being this type of monkey. I can be a trouble maker monkey much more easily. I try to hold my tongue until I burst and make matters worse. I try to see the good in people but evil ones tend to attract more attention. I try to hear no evil but they always tend to shout louder too. It is great to find some good news to break the mould once in a while.

You have some very interesting ideas to wrap the brain around. I have seen the three monkeys...not the 4th. I try to live by the speak no evil principle...but even that is subjective. Some people think others are evil if they do not follow the same religious dogma of cultish fundamentalists. So if I speak out about that they may brand me as speaking 'evil'...where others may say it is the truth. It is pretty hard to not to hear 'evil' even though I have a hard time with that word. Anyway, many could say aspects of various political adminstrations all over the world are 'evil.' So to stay informed I guess we all have to hear some of it or choose to live in a bubble or in an underground cave. See no evil falls in a similar catagory...to remain informed I think it is important to watch everything we can to know who else is inhabiting the planet with us. Sometimes it feels rather unneverving..but they are out there..better to know who and where they are..Right? Of them all the last is most unlike the life I live. I try to do have fun every day. Whether it is playing with my 5 cats, 2 dogs or my Sweetie of a hubby. My philosophy is it is only work if you don't like it...and I try not too do too much of that. So the 'Have no fun' is not in the equation...but the others are. So I there you go..another perspective. Great topic..makes one think..I like that about your site! Good stuff... you know I'll be back! Cheers!

We may have different versions of speaking evil. Sure, I try not to carry tales, gossip or what have you, and definitely do not lie on people. My version of speaking evil is telling people stuff they don't want to hear...in that way, we seem to be on the same page. Those bubble people are my mom & dad, lol. They get really mad when I talk about 9/11. "I saw the *blankety-blank* plane hit!" says Daddy. Reply: "Building 7 wasn't hit with a plane & Building 6 was closer and suffered tons less damage, and certainly didn't come down at free-fall speed." Like talking to walls. Mom has always lived in a bubble, and is very patronizing, so I don't even bring it up to them anymore. I agree completely that if "they" are coming for us, I sure as heck want to know who they are and what their motives are, etc. The 4th monkey is probably how people perceive me most of the time (except I secretly love my work...boring to most, fun for me). Got to see and hear and speak the "evils" though, as there are may folks like you and me who not only want truth but can handle it once we find out what it is. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this. Been busy and moody lately. Answered your post early this morning before my nap. Hope you are feeling better today...though it has only been a few hours. I really don't like taking medicines either, so I'm totally empathetic to your situation. Ciao4now.

Sorry to hear you are feeling out of sorts...that can be as rough as fighting any infection. I am feeling much better now...just one more day on the antibiotics...now it is time to get off them and build my body back up with vitamins, Greens Plus, Gingsing/Royal Jelly, cell food, fresh air and more some yoga. I responded to your post about psychosomatic wellness and shared a few ideas that might assist you in finding some of answers. Let me know if you decide to implement them and how they work out for you. As a life coach and group leader my focus is always to look at the root causes and work from that place rather than just doing symptomatic relief. Anyway on to your topic...thanks for adding some extra information on the 'evil' part. Can't argue with any of that. I can appreciate your Mom and Dad's views on 911..a lot of people have mixed feelings about the whole thing. You are a strong voice and I admire that. Also I appreciate the best response..and your additions to mine topics. I enjoy what we share in all our discussions and responses and appreciate this on-line connection...A LOT!! Take care of yourself...and we'll chat soon.

You asked for this one dear Visitor! Today I am none of them as sitting is nearly impossible when you have a whopping case of hemorrhoids! Are your eyes bleeding from the visual? ~Donna
