My soon to be 5 year old son and I were watching a movie yesterday called Brother Bear 2, while at the same time snacking on Pringle chips. After he tasted a few he said"Mom, these taste a little funny" and I said"Oh, it's because it's fat free, there is supposedly no fat in them, that's why it tastes a little different"He turned to look at me with a big frown on his face and said"I want more FAT in them mom, can you put it in",I burst out laughing and almost choked on my chips. He did not find it funny at all. He then went onto say"Next time buy the normal ones MOM" (while glaring at me as he says it!). I could not stop laughing and had to leave the room LOL Don't kids say the funniest things sometimes. I just wanted to share it with you all! I still have giggles over it everytime I think of this.

He's not stupid hunni. He can taste it and know what he likes. You better buy him some HIGH fat ones next time you go shopping.

Aren't kids really cute whenever they do that? They're so little, so cute, yet so smart. And really they're like a sponge that sips every detail and sometimes when we are not careful of what we say, it gets backfired on our faces. *LOL* Life's simple joys. *LOL* The story also made me think that what's really not good in your health is what tastes good doesn't it? Like in the case of this one, Pringles even the little kid decided that those with fat tastes much much better. *LOL* I guess I want more fat too. *LOL* This is just so funny. *LOL* =)

I can picture this...and it is funny, my friend....kids can say the simpliest things in such a manner sometimes....my 5 yr. old go out of bed the other morning...he came and sat down beside me on the couch...he said...I am not going to do anything today, Mom....I looked at him and asked...so what makes this different that any other day...joking with him...he frowned at me and said...and that includes arguing with you.....I HAD to laugh...I almost fell onto the floor...it was the funniest thing I ever heard....

Aww bless that little poor lad. I try to picture the situation and i gets me in stitches too. But being serious i got to agree with him. I want more fat too. I am a sworn enemy of low fat this and sugarfree that. Fair enough i would buy it if they could make it taste the same, but it is a bit like eating/drinking nothing but air and water and i do not have to pay for that.

Kids are just adorable and they say the most adorable things =) This was a typical example of that. I am amazed that he actually felt the difference though, usually they taste the same.. I have not yet tried the totally fat free though - coz I also want the fat *lol*

haha yeah I think after trying that I would probably stick to the original kind - I'm on a diet and was trying to be good about it, but oh well!

I am the same way about low carb versions of otherwise high carb food. I cannot STAND the taste (or the texture) of low carb... or anything "diet" for that matter, so I know where he's coming from! That IS funny - especially when he starts asking if you can put it in! Thanks for sharing. That's cute! =)

I didn't particularly like them either, I am on a diet so I thought I might try them but umm that was the first and the last time, especially when this happened. Asking me to "put it in" got me laughing for quite sometime thereafter. Thanks for responding skydancer.

That is way too funny. Here they tell us on these fat free things you can't tell the difference and yet a small child can tell. So mom are you going to give him the fat?*L* Thanks for sharing the giggle!

LOL The cute little guy! Thanks for sharing that with us all honey! Most of us scream to have the fat taken out of things and he screams to get it put in! You know what though he has a good point - all these fat free things may be better for us but they taste awful! xxx

that's really cute! and love your avatar. i haven't seen fat free pringles in singapore, but even if they appear on the shelves I'd stick with my FAT full ones! He's upset that you messed with his food! It's like having mummy give him a chocolate drink without milk in it! wish i could meet your kid, he sounds real precocious and fun to talk to!

That is too funny! I have a 6 year old son and can picture him doing the exact glare! Two days ago we set up the pool and he was in his room looking for his swimming shorts. His blue shark print ones were in the dryer and an old pair of "ugly rainbow" shorts were all he could find. He looks out his bedroom window at me and asked for his sharks ones. I told him they were in the dryer, just put those on. He glared at me, pointed his finger and said "Mom you know my brain says I don't like these!" He is very small for his age (size of average 4 year old) and has speech difficulties and doesn't talk much so it was so funny to see such personalty and clear speech come out of him. Needless to say I went running down to get the shark shorts. LOL Vicki

hahahaha my son says that "my brain says NO and my legs says YES" I don't know how that came about but he says that from time to time. If I ask him lets go for a walk, he says, "my brain says YES and my legs say NO" we still end up going though. Too funny alright, thanks for sharing vicki!

Yes, it was hiliarious. Agree that kids are really innocent. They just add on to what you say and they can say it so humourously and innocently such that you don't know whether to laugh or cry. Perhaps that is why a child is still a child :p

Ha.. Ha. That's a funny story to share. I like when children respond to our statement because what they say will be sounds funny to us just because they don't know what we our words mean.
