What Christmas traditions do you observe? Do you go to Mass Christmas eve? Open your presents on the eve or Christmas morning? Tell us about your Christmas....

In my fiance's family, there's a tradition that he and his two brothers watch "Emmit Otter's Jug Band Christmas" together on Christmas Eve. Now that he and his brothers are all grown up, we are going to continue that tradition with our daughter whose already seen it twice!

That's what I'm talking about zuri25. I can't go a Christmas eve without watching A Christmas Carol or Scrooged. Even if I have to stay up till the weeee hours.

HAHA! Those are definitely holiday classics. Fortunately for you, those are easily found just by turning on the tube. We had to track down and buy "Emmit..." from the internet.

I'm pretty particular about the version of A Christmas Carol that I watch. I like the version with Alistair Simm from 1953. I found the DVD version on Amazon years ago and it has a bonus colorized version of the movie. Geez how anal can we be about our Christmas viewing.

I disagree, that is major missybal. Infact I think its awesome. It might not seem like much but it is tradition every year with you whole family. Grandmother's are great. I miss mine. I bet it means the world to her that you guys get together on Christmas. We'll have to catch up when the holidays get closer, you'll have to let me know what you get Grandma.

I didn't mean it wasn't special, just not anything elebrate. I love that christmas brings everyone under one roof, just that is the only real tradition we still keep.

I almost forgot to tell you, I make all gifts for my family. I love to make quilts and pillows, and my grandmother always makes me something, she does crochet and plastic canvas. I love those kind of gifts, they are so much more special. I guess that could be called a tadition. Thanks for reminding me.

We go to the mall on Christmas Eve, it's not as crazy as you might think, and have my son's picture taken with Santa Claus. His first Christmas was 2002 and I was so busy at work that Christmas Eve was my first opportunity to take him for a picture. After that it felt meaningful.

Smart tentwo67, smart. I like that. My son's first Christmas was 2002 as well. I love how the new tradition takes hold of you like that. Hope you son finds it as meaningful and his children will one day be going to see Santa on Christmas Eve.

October 20. For his first Christmas photo we put him in a Santa outfit and hat. Then sat him in a decorative giftbox on our fireplace harth and snapped pictures to send to the family. He didn't seem to mind....

We enjoy the Yule Traditions aswell as the Christmas Traditions. We usually open a present together on Christmas Eve and sip hot cocoa and watch crhistmas movies, or read christmas books, and sometimes listen to christmas music. The yule log is my favorite part of Yule. This year Yule will be so much more special because we will get to celebrate it with our son.

When I was growing up, we'd go to church on Christmas Eve and spend Christmas day opening presents and relaxing, or visiting family for more presents! Now that I'm married, though, we're starting new traditions of our own. This is my husband's first Christmas at home (he was deployed last year), so we'll see how it goes!

I truly hope you enjoy your first Christmas as a family with your husband. There is no better present than that I should think. Tell your husband I thank and applaud him for keeping me safe.
