I am curious to see. I have met my husband on line. And so have 3 different people I work with. All of us are still in our relationship after more then 5 years. I find that the fact that you have to "court" on line before meeting, very often let's you know the person really well. People are very open when they are behind a screen. Of course, you will always have loosers that lie about themselves. But if you are really into it to start a family or just be a couple, then this is definetely the best way to go.

My sister in law met her partner online and they have been together for a few years now and are very happy and always look in love, they are such a sweet couple! They did alot of courting before he actually came to live in australia, they spoke everyday on the phone for almost a year!

Yep! I met my husband online. He sent me a random instant message in June of 2001. Uncharacteristically for me, I answered it. I'm used to IMing for work but am super cautious about strangers. Anyway, I read his profile, found out he was in the service in another country and was looking for someone to talk to. We built an amazing friendship through IMs, emails and, eventually, phone calls. We took a few vacations together, when we could afford it, and when he was discharged finally, he came to visit -- and stayed :) We got married in January 2004. He's a great stepdad to my kids and we're really happy. I never would have expected to meet someone this way but I'm sure glad I did.

I met my husband online too. we've been together for 5 years now and I glad that I meet him too. Well, you are right about people behind the screen... sometimes they lie and sometimes they dont. Most of people that I meet are also good and they are very friendly.

I am not married yet but I met my fiance online and we are preparing to get married next year once the Visa is aproved. In my case we didnt court online. We just became friends. I traveled to the states a couple of times to visit her and our freindship grew into a more intimate relationship. Then on my trip before last I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She accepted and things have been going great since.

I met my husband online over eight years ago now. Our relationship is still going strong. =) I wasn't really looking to meet someone online when we met, and we started out talking as friends. However, it just seemed the more we got to know each other, the more drawn to each other we were. I really agree with you about how open you can be while talking online! There are so many things that I told him early in our relationship that I normally would have waited longer to say, and I think having that early honesty has really helped us!

I met my husband online and after we figured out that we actually lived in the same town, we met up a month later and everything else was history. After that there was no going back online to that chat site :)

I met my husband online in a game room we chatted for a few months and than decided to meet, we met two different times and decided we wanted to be together, we lived 14 hours apart, I moved to be with him and we lived together for two years before we got married, we have been married almost three years now and have never been happier. Wonder why the better things come later in life.

I know for a fact of two marriages close to me of folks that met online and all; For one, My brother met his wife online over seven years ago, and they got married in 2001 and have a 3 year old daughter now. Then I have a girlfriend that met her current husband online back in 2003, and they hit it off and got married soon afterward. They have been married for over three years now and was in the wedding they had. I am happy for her.

I met my husband online in early 1999 and by August 1999, he was leaving the state he lived in to travel almost 1100 miles to be with me. We are still together and have recently added to our family with a daughter last Janurary. We met through American Singles and our success story is STILL there--look under success stories for Kitty Faulkner and Mike and you will find us. Yes you can always meet loosers online who lie however you can do that in everyday life as well. Most people are more open and honest behind the computer screen. When I met my husband I was a single mom running a home daycare business and I just didn't have the time to 'meet' anyone. And I didn't do the bar scene thing.

I usually don't admit this, but my husband and I met online. We both had signed up on a dating website, and I had actually just upgraded so I could respond to his profile. We talked online a couple times then exchanged phone numbers. We talked on the phone for about two weeks, then he invited me to his work to meet him. He's a manager on a casino boat. It's not something I'd normally do, but I managed to get the courage to go. We met, and I hate to sound corny but I swore I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. We dated for about three months and decided to get married. It was crazy and way too fast, but we both just went for it. I'm telling you, it felt right. We married a couple of months later, and have been married for three years on July 24th. We have had two children together and are very content with one another. Kind of like an old married couple except that there's still exciting intimacy together. We seem to be the exception to the rule.
