Because I'm Chinese, people automatically assume I know how to read and write Chinese. Even though I'm Chinese and can speak the language, I'm actually English-educated and have no idea how to read or write the characters. People also assume I'm 10 years younger than what I actually am because I look young and have a young son. What about you? What do people assume about you?

As a teenager, people always assumed that I slept around, because I was pretty. I never dressed sleazy, never wore make up, and never talked to boys, but people always assumed that. The rumors were always flying. I am now friends with someome who used to feed the rumors, and she has admitted it was because I was pretty. Now..People assume that I am a bad person because I am 25 and divorced. I was in a not so good relationship, and decided I didn't have to live like that. Let them think what they want:)

I guess these people were just jealous of you. It's really a wonder to me the kinds of rumours people can make up about someone when they feel threatened, ya? Yeah...just let them think and say whatever they want. They are not in your shoes and don't know half the stuff you go through.

People assume that because I am overweight that all I do is eat and sit on my butt watching TV. They assume I know nothing about being healthy, because, obviously, I am not healthy. What they do not know, is that I eat very low amounts of fat and sugar, I exercise at least 4 times a week, I take several vitamins and supplements and I'm probably healthier than most of the jerks who think they know me. I don't eat fast food, I never eat anything fried, and I rarely eat red meat.

I have a friend who's going through what you're going through too. She's overweight because of a health problem and not because she over-eats. But people just assume she has no self-control. But in reality, she eats less than me and exercises more than me!!

People think I’m good at Math- because I’m an accountant- I hate basic math and I use a adding machine at work- so forget it- don’t have me add basic numbers- lol…. Like in darts- or bowling- that is about it!

I have Scottish friends...I don't think they are cheap...most of them do drink a lot though...but that's ok....so do a lot of my other friends...especially me living in a military town! LOL!! I also have a tattoo and because I'm Asian and have a tattoo, the assumption amongst other Asians is that I'm a "bad girl".

People assume I am an idiot. I think it's because I project this outward appearance of being energetic, happy go lucky, I laugh a lot, I smile a lot, and I flirt like it's second nature. I don't even realize I flirt until someone points it out. Not a way out there type flirt, i guess it's more of a subtle thing. Also I think people assume I am a moron because of my appearance. I am pretty good looking, and even though I just turned 33 I haven't had anyone peg me for older than 25. Sometimes I just wanna yell, "HEY! I AM EDUCATED!!"

I know how you feel. I'm a stay at home mom now and people just assume that I know nothing as very few know my background. Actually, I have over 10 years of work experience in various fields and held many managerial positions. So, people are shocked when they know I have a degree and all that work experience.
