Do you think you could be hypnotised?

I remember getting into this discussion in class (about 10 years ago) and to test his theory, my professsor told us this story. I thought I'd try it out here, and see how everyone responds! Imagine you are walking through the dry, sandy desert at high noon. The sun is beating down of you. You're so tired and hot, beads of sweat roll down your face and down your body, under the clothing that is barely protecting you from the elements. The brief bursts of wind, merely breezes, only throw the sand and dust up into your path. Your breath is harsh and your mouth dry, but still you tread onward. You've consumed your last drop of water hours go-you're so thirsty, yet still on you plod. In the distance you see something. An oasis perhaps? But you don't hope, for you've heard of these desert illusions before..the way the heat and light play together to produce-to the eye-something that isn't there. You continue on, in the searing heat, under the blazing sun. Closer you come to this apparition, yet you soon realize that your eyes are not betraying you. Despite your exhaustion, you muster up your strength and run to this refuge from the sand, the heat. The oasis is now before you-a small, beautiful patch of water amidst the dry of the desert that surrounds you. You bend down, cupping your hands, anticipating the coolness of the water. You close your eyes and sip from thirst-quenching liquid. Did you swallow when you took your first "sip"?

Hard Headed - Hard Headed
I do not believe that I can be hypnotised. (Humouring the idea tht it is a real thing) My mother says that I am hard headed and she is right. I have my beliefs and it takes something short of a miracle to change my mind. heh I don't believe that I could ever give myself over to be controlled by another like that.

Interesting! I did not feel to 'sip', but I did find that my mouth was salivating. Very interesting. I didn't think I could be hypnotized, because I have to be in control of myself at all times. I'm not that trusting of other people. I was wrong. I saw Romain once to stop smoking. After I left the session, I had no urges to smoke whatsoever. He explained that anyone can hypnotize themself. It is all in the mind.

I've had people try it on me before. I just can't relax enough.

The thing is: to be hypnotized, you have to trust the person doing the hypnotizing to a degree. I have a hard tiem with trust, so I probably couldn't be hypnotized at all. Neat situation for a session though.

I might, if I trusted the person and wanted to be.
