Do you know more than one language? Do you like your own language? I love English because it's so complicated! I like learning any language but I don't know a lot of any. I love German because it's got such long words and I like Japanese even though I can only say "hello" !

Ah, Tagalog is the national language of the Philippines. But we have about 86 dialects which is completely different with the Tagalog. Even "us" Filipinos, we couldn't understand each other if we go to somewhere else than our city/town. Like myself, I lived in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines, and we speak Waray-waray, and if I travel to Cebu about 4 hours from us, Cebuanos can't understand us waray waray, so we have to switch to speak Tagalog, our national language.

Although, we have completely different dialects in the Philippines, All filipinos know how to speak Tagalog, that's what binds us. I had a bf before whose dialect was Ilocano, everytime he visits me, and talk to my family, he needed to speak Tagalog because all of us can't understand Ilocano, Ilocano and Waray waray are completely different dialects. I remember when he was on the phone talking with someone else I couldn't even tell if it was "another woman" and what they were talking about. I didn't had the clue. All I understood was Hello, and Bye.

Oh, I see. In England, there are loads of different dialects and I can't understand some but most of them aren't too bad because the main stuff is basically similar apart from the accent(but some accents are almost as impossible to understand than another language even though they're using the same words!)We don't really have a dialect which everyone can or does use, I think "Queen's English" is the one most people can understand but no one actually speaks like that unless they've been taught professionally!

That's cool. But are the dialects actually classed as different languages? And what is Tagalog? I keep seeing it but I've never heard of it before.

I like English, I know I'm very clever because I learnt to speak English from when I was a baby, some people think it's not that clever because I am actually English. I like the Japanese and Chines languages, I just like hearing it, I have no idea what they're saying, but it sounds nice. :)

Well I only speak English so I'm not much help with this one. But I think it would be rather neat to speak Italian cause everything they say sounds so romantic. lol Maybe French too for the same reason. :)
