Does God subject us to tests that we have to bear in utmost patience / isn't it quite a lot of experimentation with poor souls like most of us/

It might appear that God is testing us but in reality, I think God is giving us the chance to practice patience and forbearance. It is only through these test that we toughen ourselves, like the saying goes 'When the going gets tough, the tougher gets going'. It is our perspective that makes or breaks us.

hi Sukumar - I don't believe in God, but certainly at times something or someone out there is testing us that's for sure. I feel we have to take what comes our way and deal with it as best as we can. There is a saying: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." ;)

The Bible says that the Lord does not give us more than we can bear. So, when I start to feel over-whelmed I remind myself of this and my load seems so much lighter.

When people talk about God, I think of God being everything. It is also written that God is life. Life is about evolution - I say that because all life evolves and I believe that consciousness evolves also. Evolution can only come about through trial and test and life it like that. Without challenges, we would not become stronger, but would grow weaker with inactivity. Therefore, if I look closely at what goes on in my life, I really wouldn't have it any other way. :-)

Hi sukumar ji, Your topics are always of high quality. To this, i share what i believe in. God never gives tests or subject us to the testing times or hardships to any soul on earth. All the sufferings that one experience in this world is due to one's own Reactions, Reflection, and Resound, the three R's of one's life. Shortly, It all depends on what we have done to others, what actions does we perform/performed in the past. It is the just the Cause and effect story. One cant by any means earn the grace of god,by evading from the effects of KARMA. HIS resolute is final and none can escape from the clutches of it.

I don't think God will ever wish us harm. If we see God as someone who initiates the 'test' for us to learn, then would it not contradict our prayer when we say "deliver us from the test..." I think we have to make the records straight. God does not want us to suffer. He won't even subject us to the test. He merely allows it, as a father allows his children to experience pain in the hope that they learn in the process. It's not about the pain or suffering, but on account of love.
