You've all heard of the saying don't flog a dead horse well that's exactly what came to mind when I came out of the cinema this evening after seeing Shrek 3. After being thoroughly entertained by Harry Potter I had been looking forward in seeing Shrek3, I went with my friend Sarah and it was packed with children! LOL Gee did I feel OLD! Anyway I came away feeling very disappointed. I just feel that they are flogging the idea and making money out of an idea which should have been put to bed after the second one. The second one is by far the BEST and the FUNNIEST I wouldn't recommend it and I certainly won't be getting it on DVD. Please DON'T make a 4th film! Sorry thumbs sorry paws down from Wolfie Although the casting was brilliant, that I couldn't fault, great star line up too! Least it only cost £6 tonight and not £12.50! Do you like these sorts of films and which is your favourite?

Oh I disagree with you on this one Wolfie : ( ~ I took my daughter to see Shrek the third when it first came out- we went to a Drive-In- Yes it was still quite frigid outside at night- But Drive-in’s are the best. We sat outside in the back of our truck with 4 blankets covering us up – keeping us warm- I thought it was Great! I laughed and laughed- Shrek is wonderful- Fiona’s mom was a rock start- beating down walls and doors- and the babies at the end were adorable! I’m not sure if I’ll buy the DVD- but I’m certainly going to rent it and watch it again! And again! I did the Shrek 2- better but 3 was great too!

I liked the 2nd the best too. It does seem that the more movies there are, or the more sequels there are, the worse they get. I do not understand if they are just making sequels just to make them, because the name will sell it for them or what, but I think quality is very important. I havent seen this one yet, but I am sure I will as my son loves shrek. But now I am not much looking forward to it, as you arent the first to express this feeling on the movie. =)

Usually you get a good feeling from the audience but there wasn't much laughter and the jokes were lost on the adults and children too! Glad I saw it but it certainly enthrall me! Is that it, I thought afterwards!

Awww little bruv I am sorry that you didn't enjoy this film as I know you were looking forward to it! I haven't seen it myself but the kids have and they enjoyed it - although not as much as the first 2! Thanks for the review sweets - it really made me laugh! xxx

I just love those Shrek movies, wolfie, though I have to admit that I have not seen 3. I can't imagine that it would be that bad. It got some good reviews on the shows where I saw it rated. But as I always say, when it comes to movies it's different strokes for different folks. Sorry you felt that it was a waste of your time and money. Yes I do like those types of movies a lot. I think Shrek is my favorite.

I disagree. I think the first was definitely the best Shrek. I think the 3rd had a few moments of "pushing it' but I think it's still a decent movie. I've heard they are already planning a 4th and possibly planning a spin off "puss in boots" movie. I think the franchise will be too big for it's own good...and eventually it'll run it's course. However, I think they still give a few good laughs and that's whats really important.

I loved the first one and thought the second one was OK (but I only seen that once and I don't think I was 'in the mood' to enjoy it properly). I wasn't really bothered about seeing this new one, but I went to my wife's cousins wedding reception and I swear to god, the bride looked like Princess Fiona (in her true shrek-like form). Honestly, with nothing more than a little green make-up she could have been used as a stunt double! I wouldn't mind seeing shrek 3 now, just to compare them again!

I have been wanting to see Shrek 3, but it seems everyone has been saying that it is not nearly as good as the other 2. I agree that the second one was funnier than the first, which is really impressive for a sequel. But it doesn't sound like I'll get a big kick out of the third one!

Oh - I was so hoping it would be as good as 2. I usually wait till they come on Pay Per View and then watch them, the movies are too expensive and with PPV it's like renting it and it's only about $4.00. I love all the animated movies and comedies....science fiction and scary movies work for me too!!

I loved the first Shrek, the 2nd was good but not as good as the 1st, the 3rd should have been a made for TV cartoon. It was not worth going to the movies to see. And certainly not at the rates they charge at the movies.

I have seen the first two parts I have heard that the third wasn't too good. I am glad that you brought this up. I wouldn't be surprised if they do make a fourth one. I think I liked the second one better.
