I use it for cleaning the top of our ceramic stove, the burners when we do not have the regular stuff and when the marks are too hard it would be too expensive to use the cream. I also use it for cleaning the sink, and if the sink smells, will put a tablespoon followed by some vinegar down the drain. It is also good for marks, and for deodorizing the refrigerator. It can also put out small fires. I of course use it for making hotcakes and waffles and some muffins.

I love using baking soda for cleaning around the house. One of my favorite uses is for cleaning the bath tub and my porcelain sink in the kitchen. For the tub, I buy cheap shampoo at the dollar store, and dump a little on a soft sponge, then pour a little baking soda on it and clean away. I have found that this cleans my tub faster, and easier than buying any man made product out there (and is a lot cheaper too.) Once I found how effortless it was to clean it this way (and gentler on the porcelain) I've never purchased any of those bathroom cleaners again, just because they don't work as well, and they cost soooooo much more. I even use this combo to clean the shower because it's quicker and gets more of that soapy grime off.

Thats a good idea. I use this product called the works but the smell is so strong you could pass out from it. are we killing ourselves smelling this crap we use to clean our house with?

I used to use "the works" too, I thought it was a pretty good brand until it etched the bottom of my tub, and took the finish off the drain cover and all. When I found it etched the tub, I had to get a tub resurfacing kit and redo it. When it came out so good I thought I'd be danged if I was going to use that cleaner anymore and hit upon the shampoo & baking soda by accident. Once I found how good it worked I've been using just that since. Yes, I'm concerned too about all the chemicals. I have lots of allergies and a lot of the chemical cleaning products give me headaches and break me out and all...can't be good in the long run! I have a lot of other homemade solutions I make up that are gentler, safer, and work better than what you can get in the store.

It can be used to keep odors out of a refrigerator. They even sell special boxes for this purpose.
