What transmission is your car ? Manual or Auto... I think if you learn on a manual you can drive either but leaning on an auto restricts you to just that.... if you ever in the position of an emergency or something and there is only an auto to drive ..... what do you do ???

I prefer to drive a Manual. Automatic is ok, but I feel more in control when I have a Manual.

I've started my driving lessons on a manual transmission but I drive an automatic. I've gotten so used driving it that I'm not confident anymore if I can drive a manual transmission smoothly. I might have problems early on but I'm sure if an emergency arises, I'd be able to manage to drive a manual transmission to the destination. LOL. Cheers! Good discussion.

I currently drive an automatic but I prefer to drive a standard or manual. I learned how to drive on a manual and I am glad I did, it has come in handy over the years. I like the fact that you can push start a small standard car and pop the clutch to get it going. I think an automatic car is too easy to drive and I don't pay as much attention to my driving as I do in a standard. The working of the gears and clutch keep your mind active.
