I love Gather! I'm one of the Gather Guides and have been a member since 2005. It is the one site that got me back into my writing again. There are so many talented people there who offer critiques on your work, and it that has helped me so much. I enjoy My Lot as well, for different reasons. I like the question and answer format, because it is something different.

I really enjoy working on both sites. Gather did get me going on my writing skills. Although I know I will never be a great writer, I am good enough.

I did sign up...but haven't had time to participate. My regular free lance work is my main source of income...and that always comes first is keeping me busy. I have three articles that I am completing for Fall publications. Between that and wanting to enjoy the dwindling days of summer, Mylotting, feeling under the weather there hasn't been any time left over to gather.
The one thing I did not like about the site...is how they kept sending e-mail after e-mail and cluttering up my already busy mailbox. Other than that I do intend to write for Gather because it has some truly inspired writers who contribute there and I value that.

There is a way to stop the email from coming. I only get notice when my mother posts an article.

I will look into that...as I mentioned right now I have enough to do with completing some paying articles for publication. My 'rec' time is Mylotting...so if I can stop the influx of 'gather' e-mails I will be more inclined to participate. I do not like sites that create a feeling of 'pressuring to participate.' The rebel in me says...'no way!' I prefer the feeling of 'going with the flow' and participating from a genuine place within...not from external prompting.
Anyway, I will see what I can do...the content and writers looks very uplifting...so conceptually I think it would be a good fit with my world view...but the e-mails..well we've already talked about that.
Anyway, I value our chats and trust they will continue. Also let me know if and when you have your tatoo. My birthday is on New Year's Eve...and I might be gearing up to getting a tatoo...too!LOL

I love Gather! It's a shame I didn't know you were on there or I would have signed up under you. I am pretty sure I signed up with no referral a while back.
I love what they have to offer to users and it seems like it is so easy to get to a point value that gets you gifts! If I actually had something to write about I am sure I would be gaining way more points every day. All I do there right now is post photos. I also like that so many of their groups allow the posting of referral links for other sites that you belong to. It's a fun site and every day I find something to make it even better!

I am finally getting around pretty good over there. I have been spending more time over there than I have been here. I like being able to share recipes. I miss that here.

I go through streaks where I gather. I can't seem to get in to that site like I can this one. I am not sure why. I try and sometimes I do okay, but it just doesn't pull me in all that way :(

All I have done so far is post a few comments. I will go look for you though. I have several friends from here that I have connected with. My daughter joined and has done much more than I have. I hope it works for her. I will see you over there, friend.

I love Gather. I spend most of my time on there when I can. Lately I've been spending more time on MyLot because I need the money, but I love Gather. I have shared a lot on Gather, My screenname is Danishcanadian just like it is here on MyLot. It's one of my favourite websites.

I’m not a member of Gather- Can you share a bit about it- I have heard an awful lot- and a lot of my old friends from a different website went there when the site took a dive- (Judy’s Book) Do you earn things?? Gift certificates? What do you do—just chat with people- answer questions- please fill me in – and then I probably will want to join. : )

It is similar to MyLot. You post discussions, recipes, pictures, etc. You respond to articles, etc. You earn gift cards or have a cashout option. They just started the cashout option. I flip flop between the two sites.

I joined gather at the request of a friend, went in, signed up and had no idea what to do next. I'm afraid it just left me hanging. I couldn't find any of my friends and the email "orange juice" I get each day holds nothing for me. I just don't get what it's about.
