Did you get many replies to the 7 discussions posted? This is one of the reasons I don't make many discussions actually, because my earnings depend on others and not myself. To make money off discussions, you need a lot of replies and quality replies, not just one liners. Your replies...how long are they? You should always try to have them be at least 5 lines, since one and two liners won't get you much. And finally the pictures...I'm not too sure, but I believe the max you can get from posting pics is just 1 cent. 5 pics won't give you 5 cents, just 1. I mostly just reply, and yesterday I was lazy and didn't do much, I only replied to 3 discussions (no pics) and I got 11 cents. So it really all depends on quality, over the quantity. Much luck! :)

I think you hit the problem perfectly! I did not get many replies from the 7 discussions, I think I got 8 at the most but most of them were 1 or 3 responses. I actually didn't know that the earnings were dependent upon others and not yourself, thanx for the tip! But today, I was in luck, ironically, this post has given me A LOT of great quality replies so I think I might be in luck tomorrow. I usually write a lot so I know that the quality of what I write shouldn't be affecting my payment... oh well... I'll keep that in my head though, quality no quantity! thanx again!

Seriously, no one could get rich off of it unless they've got 500 referrals and each of them are making about 10 cents per day thereby leting them make $700 every two weeks or $18200 per year. That's not rich persay but it's like having a job! sigh...... i can only dream and hope that mylot's current situation is temporary and that everything will become so much better in a week or so..

I've noticed a lot of up and down around here. There are some days when I think to myself "They paid me that much for just responding to a few people about topics I know a little about? Sweet!" Other days I think to myself "Why am I typing my fingers off for 7 cents. I'm better off picking up cans on the street for some extra cash. I try my best not to get too opset about it because really, no matter how slowly, I am making money. I would say focus less on the pictures and just focus on writing as many long and thoughtful responses as you can. You'll be surprised to see that all those little payouts can defiantely add up.

Lol, "typing you fingers off", that's a great way to put it because that's exactly what I did yesterday! Heck, today I've been typing my fingers off too, I really don't know why I make the effort when I know that I might end up making 5 cents or something! Luckily for me, posting this discussion has helped me learn a little bit more about mylot, I guess the skilled ones are the ones who get a little somethin somethin out of their hard work! Mylot does give one hint... "Please be as descriptive as possible" so I'm sure they have a good reason to add that in. But I wonder, how do they calculate how descriptive you are and the quality of your post? How do they figure out, okay - she deserves 1 cent for that and he deserves 10 cents for that? Whatever.... as long as I'm gettin paid I'm happy! I'm hoping that after a couple months or so I'll be very happy about my payments!

I usally make pretty good money most days on my lot I usually make more then 40 cents today I made 66 cents and my the highest ive ever been paid was $1.50 but the thing to do is when you make a lot of post like you did 35 is a lot make sure your post are paragraphs like make them 3 to 4 sentences long they pay the most for long post and when you make discussions I think they only pay you when a lot of people reply in them which suks because they should pay 2 cents per post and when you get up to 500 post upload a lot of pictures thats how I make the most money a day you get one cent per pic and I do 25 which is the maximium so I usually make 25 cents just for pictures alone. But dont give up take my advice and youll be making money in no time ive been here for only a few months and I have over $15 so keep at it and dont get disscouraged.

Yeah, that is discouraging. In my case, if I did that much here in one day, it would be a sure sign that I wasn't trying to make money that day. My regular writing pays more. But I am a special case, for me MyLot is for goofing off and avioding my real work. I recently read a reply to a discussion that part of the problem with low paying days is that when MyLot deletes discussions and removes your earnings from them, they took the money from the current day's earnings, rather than going back to the day when the discussion originally happened. So if you are replying to a lot of stuff that is getting deleted for violations of the rules, then your dailies are going to tank. Which is why there are certain types of discussions that I will not touch with a ten foot pole. So you may have made a lot yesterday, but been paying the piper for deleted posts, hence low final total for the day. As for the depression, and I have felt it too on occasion, I think it just human to feel that way. It is like a couple of semesters ago when I only got a B on a term paper. "I did this much work, only to get a B?!" Same holds true here, we do a lot of work and occasionally do not guess the outcome properly. But here is the amusing part, you will end up days here where you do very little and actually will earn more than expected. I have days when I guessed just a few cents, and it was higher for my day's total. So try not to get too tied up with guessing about how much you are going to earn for the day.

Whoa whoa whoa hold up! What did you just write? They go and remove your earnings from that day rather than from the day that your deleted discussion was written? Talk about crazy! Are you saying that if I were to respond to a discussion, and it was deleted, I'd have to suffer the consequences too? Where's the fairness in that, only the one who began the discussion should suffocate or low payments, not me! I guess you gotta also watch what you respond to! Yeah, I think I'm going to stick to your tip and tried not to get too tied up about how much I earn for a day, I'll just chill, respond to a couple posts here and there, have a little fun, and let the money come in. Free money is free money, I guess I can't complain too much! Thanx for your great response, and you made me feel lucky because you responded to mine since there are some discussions that you wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole (lol!)

Hi dafnie I just started on myLot two days ago and made around 30 cents the first day. I started on this site seeing the posts about making money for sharing your ideas, starting discussions, and answering discussions. I did not realize the amount that would be paid was so low. I have now started discussions that I would personally like answered and not for the money. It seems that if you start discussions that are answered by several people and replied to indepth, then you will get paid more. I don't know as much since I just started on this site, but I have had several posts about advice and people doing all this work for 10 bucks a month. Seems like more trouble than it is worth. On the other hand if you are making 10 bucks a month from 10 sites offering to pay for the same things, then why not.

Thanks jerry (is that your name?) for your thorough response. Yeah, I had to learn the hard way but I have come to realize that quality is truly a very important factor when it comes to mylot's discussions. Ironically, i have been receiving a lot of very qualitative answers on this discussion and about two others, but i've received more success from this one. Though the other day I made about 9 cents, yesterday, I posted this discussion, answered a couple other posts (lengthy and descriptive paragraphs) and i made 78 cents! yes, 78 cents! I just feel like telling the whole world! it really really works. So, once you know that your discussion question might get you nice, long answers from a lot of people, go for it, also when you write in other posts, write a lot! don't do too much in one day, just do a couple really really good responses and you'll see, the money will just come pouring in! i think i've been doing okay today so i'm very excited about tomorrow (look at me going crazy for something that's less than a $1), but hey, free money is free money ya know! i've been trying to sign up on other sites because it truly does add up!

i have noticed a decline in the amount mylot is paying now. i guess the more members that are added the less we get paid. it used to be that you made at least a penny per post. i am pretty sure we are getting a lot less than that now.

I actually contacted mylot and I asked them - "what's going on? why are you paying your members less than when you began when you're supposedly getting new members everyday?" mylot replied - "myLot does not release any details about its earning algorithm. myLot continually works for improvements and many exciting things are in works." talk about a "politically correct" answer! i don't know what's going on, but I'm hoping that that is not the factor (more members, less money), it wouldn't make any sense ya know? maybe they started running out of money or something who knows. I just hope they get back up really soon and that they really do have some good things in store for us in the near future.

The pay scale seems to have been reduced as of late. I am one that used to upload a LOT of photos in my discussions, comments, responses, and in various interest categories. I would do maybe 25 a day and earn anywhere from 30 to 75 cents for these. the other day I did 25 and got 15 cwents. So the incentive to add photos for me has dropped as well. hang in there we are all hoping things perk up once again in the near future. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

hi grandpa bob we meet again! i usually forget to posts photos anyways so i don't think i'm going to bother myself too much about it, unless i really really need to for my post! Now, when you earned 75 cents in a day was that a while back, because that just seems totally impossible these days! I truly do hope that things will perk up once again in the future! I still have hope, it's in me, the depression didn't last too long! thanx! ;)

Yeah it obviously isn't a get rich quick site. Actually I'm not even interested in any "get rich quick" sites because most of them are false and really.... if everyone could get rich quick, then everybody'd be rich ya know! It's just that I was totally on role making an average of 20 to 30 cents per day and I worked soooo hard that day I only made 9 cents! I was devastated. But then the next day I made 78 cents, yeah i know, weird. And I actually did contact myLot (lol). I wrote to them "why are you giving less and less money daily when you are supposedly getting newer and more members?" myLot responded (about a week later" - myLot does not release any details about its earning algorithm. myLot continually works for improvements and many exciting things are in the works." I hope that these "exciting" things come soon, or else they will start to loose a couple members. They probably won't lose too much members since most of the people on hear love to communicate with others on here and stuff!

You have to write quality responses of about five or more lines and your discussions have to be interesting so that others will reply to them in depth. The pay rate of myLot has gone down, I suppose, because of the expanding membership and those who post and respond in short one to two sentences are in a way stealing from those who write quantity and quality. I suppose if these 'silly' members had left, then the payrate would go back to what it was and I presume by lowering the payrate, myLot is hinting for them to leave and as soon as they do, might raise the rate to once it was.

Wow, I think you're the first person I've seen who has developed a really good reason as to why myLot's payrate is going down. It might actually be true! We are receiving a lot more members but there are only a few people who actually post really good responses and have really good discussions. Some people are sitting there replying to 20 discussions per day and writing little one liners expecting to get a lot of money, but it doesn't work that way for myLot! Well, I hope that they either leave or get the picture (like I did!) and I hope that the payrate does go up again. I'm not "depressed" anymore, but I still feel it a little (lol). Naw not really, luckily I made 78 cents the next day. Someone replied and told me that sometimes, depending upon the time you made your posts, the post from the other day carry over to the next day so you don't see how much money you've made until two days later. I'm assuming that's what happened because when I had my pictures in, I didn't get any money for it, but the next day I got 3 cents for my pictures even though I didn't put anymore up. Thank you for your "qualitative" response, it is quite appreciative!

Yeah, after reading all of the great and wonderful responses I've received on this discussion, I have come to learn that I seriously did not know the rules about posting here on mylot. Turns out there is a lot more than just posting for money on here. You have to make sure that you post something that is relavent to the discussion, it must be not only be more than just one line but has to have really good descriptive information in it, when you start a discussion, it must a be a good topic that'll get people to response with long, qualitative responses. Once you see a discussion that has good stuff in it, good information and it helps you out, you should rate the discussions. Basically, it's all about quality not quantity. I don't really think the time you spend on here should be too much. As long as you post a couple good posts here everyday and you start a couple really good discussions everyonce in a while, you'll get a couple bucks within a week. Also, if you have some referrals, you could start to make some really good money. So spending about 4 hours responding to 30 discussions with short answers everyday won't get you anywhere. But if you respond to like five discussions with really good, long, qualitative information and you're lucky enough to start a discussion (with pictures) that gets nice about 10 really nice 4 line responses, you might make around 50 cents that day. Well... that's my conclusion after all i've learned and experienced in this past week!

You might seem to have done a lot in mylot with all those postings, but one reason for the low payout could be the timing factor. You may have posted throughout your waking hours from morning till night, but the 24-hour cutoff time for mylot to calculate earnings could be different from yours. It really depends on which country you are from. So for example if mylot cuts off at midnight to calculate the day's earnings, their midnight could be 4pm of that day in your country. Maybe some of your earnings might show up another day due to this time difference. I am just guessing of course, but with members coming from all over the world, surely the cutoff times are different for people coming from different countries.

Yeah I feel like I've grown these past two days. I've learned so much and I'm starting to become more successful! I guess posting this one discussion definitely was not a mistake because a lot of people have been answering with some great qualitative answers and some really good tips! There are some things I didn't know about myLot. Is there like a site or something that has all the tips just layed out for new people who don't know? That'd be really great because my first impression of the site was just "post, post, post and you'll get money money money". but apparently, there's a lot more to it! I'm getting some cool friends also and I think that's one of the main reason that people come back to mylot, it's a great community!

It is quite discouraging but just remember, quality over quantity. A 1-3 line post is not adding much content to MyLot and that is the main aim to make money and be placed well in search engines. So instead of trying to post 20 1-3 liners, post 15 4-infinite responses and earn more! I try to post as much helpful and relative content when i respond to or post discussions. I am not really that dissapointed from MyLot as i love the community.

Quality over quantity... got it! I've been working on it, seriously I have. I made sure that my discussions were at least four lines and when I replied to people, I wrote about 4 lines or more. Problem is, I only got like one or two responses on several of my discussions and from what I've earned, that's one of the reasons why I didn't get much money. It seems to me that mylot truly isn't ALL that bad, but you gotta know how to work through the systems. One must know what it is that they must do to get paid well. Like for example, when I posted this discussion, I think I received about 20 responses in one day and about 10 responses each for two other discussions I began. I wrote a lot and the next morning I woke up and 78 cents was added on to my earnings. I was absolutely amazed! Thrilled! Just ecstatic, I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning.

I am just adding to all those who have written to you in this post and agreeing that the payment is real low. My biggest question is actually where myLot gets the money to pay us. The thing about mylot is free to join and if they do not get any kind of income from the subscribers, then where is the money coming from? How constant is that and how does it grow? As more members join (through the referrals), there is definitely going to be less to share out if the incoming proportion is not the same as the membership growth. Hence, I would think that those who have joined in the early stages would have earned good money but everyone would now feel the slowness in getting any money. Well, guess this is the setback of free programs.

lol, sorry about your 'plastic lid'! i'm not totally depressed, i was just a little disappointed you know! i worked so hard, replying many posts, thinking of questions for my own discussions and putting in some pics in it! i was like "yes, 50 cents for me tomorrow!". I woke up and it only went up nine cents. oh well, at least i'm still a live. i think some of the money i was supposed to make that day went into the next day because i made 78 cents the next day (crazy right!?). if only i could be that successful everyday! boy would that be great! i'm still aiming towards a very very high goal here on mylot. $100. Yes, it's crazy, it will be difficult but I will achieve it! It might not be worth the time that I'd have to spent here and it might even take me a whole year, but I think if I just put my mind to it, I will make that much money. And when I do...... I'll tell the whole world! Okay okay, I'll just tell the whole myLot community. Ironically for me, though I did not get a lot or replies on my other posts, I've been very successful for this one. I guess it has to be a discussion that everyone can relate to and that will catch everyone's eye. Obviously, depression about myLot's low payrate is something that caught everyone's eye! Thanx for your great response, I've noticed that you have been reading around this post and commenting yourself! Looks like we all have something to learn here! ttyl!

How ironic we made that same amount of money after posting a lot! My new theory (and I will try to follow it as much as possible) will be - "Post less, but write more." That is basically what I am going to do. I will reply to different discussion but not as much as before. I will try to be very careful at replying to discussions because it has to be a question that I can reply with a very long and qualitative response. I actually tried that and I made about 78 cents when I did that. Yeah. Crazy right?! Don't reply with really short responses, just like mylot tells you while your writing your "comments or responses"... "Please be as descriptive as possible." I'm assuming there is a good reason why they have that little tip there! The only thing I'm worried about is that I've received a couple responses telling me that when you post a discussion that gets little responses or responses with one or two lines, you don't get much money. So, other people actually help you make more money. You'd have to start a discussion that will give you qualitative responses. I'm worried about it because hey.... how am I supposed to know if people will truly respond well to my discussion!? I wish you good luck, I'm glad you still love mylot because I do too! :)
