I really think Alan will improve a lot if Sir gives him another chance... Although i know business is business, there is nothing to do with emotion...but i really appreciate Alan's willing to strive for a place in OT....but reality is so sad.... Alan has gone.... maybe some united's fans have the same feeling.... I like Alan...good luck to him &hope everything will be well with him in the next season...also good luck to united!!

I believe many fans are sad to see Alan Smith leave the club. I believe Smith has quite an influence to his team mates in United too. Just look at the support given by the United players when Smith was injured. And they actually showed their support and encouragement to him during the trophy presentation of the league cup they won two seasons ago! Well....Good luck to him in his new career with Newcastle. I think the Geordies would accept and love him.

When Alan signed for Man U the expectations were too high. Alan's commitment for the Leeds United cause seemed to indicate that he might be the next Roy Keane in the making. But, then Man U is a club where you need amazing skills as well as commitment. Keano was a rare combination of the two. Alan was bound to struggle for a place on the skills scale, though there was no dearth of commitment. So I guess this was always in the cards. I was surprised when he signed for Man U, but I guess his moving on is the best both for the player and the club!! Cheers! Ram

Yea.. it's really quite sad to see alan smith leave.. but with so many strikers now.. i guess someone has to leave.. it's really unfortunate that he's injured half the time he was in Man U.. wish him all the best too..
