... and they're all out on Sunday, visiting an old friend, so we've arranged to have a day out tomorrow if the weather holds. I tried to include my other son's three children, but they've made prior arrangemens, so it will be just the two girls again and my Son and Daughter-In-Law. We have agreed that we'll take a picnic and go up on the Downs, but we haven't chosen a spot yet. Now, wherever we go, I'm sure there's going to be plenty of laughs and antics and noooooooooooo, I'm not rolling down that steep hill any more because it becomes more and more difficult to get back up. ha ha ha I'm going to take my Bernard Cornwell book and find a nice spot... might even try to sneak my lounger into their boot, or the chair part of it anyway! ha ha ha. Naturally, I'll have to be involved with some of the activities, or it wouldn't be so enjoyable, but I would like to take a bit of quiet time, somewhere along the way. Well... I guess I'll be back tomorrow after I return, with a variety of stories... some scenic and some sill moments, which I'd like to share, so I'll see y'all when I get back, if I can still sit!!! ha ha ha Have a great day, and indeed a great weekend, full of contentment and laugher.

I'm home tonight Vinzen, and hoping to go beachcombing for some black stones tomorrow, which I need for a craft project. :) We had a slight change of plan and younger son couldn't come but we still had a fun time. Brightest Blessings.

They do seem to grow up very quickly when you're a grandparent. I don't know where the time was. I didn't roll down any hills because there was a change of plan. :) Brightest Blessings.

It was over 30C, clear blue skies, a little breeze and bright, hot sunshine. Yes, we had a great day here in the sunny south, my friend. I hope it cheers up for you tomorrow. All that rain was getting on my nerves but we've had great weather now for over a week... your turn!

It was too nice Gabs, around 30C and too hot to go on the Downs. We would have been fried! Youngest son and his crew couldn't come in the end, so we went off somewhere else, which was just as enjoyable, even if the views weren't so good. Brightest Blessings, love and hugs. xx

So which Bernard Cornwell book are you reading? How can you read, and still do everything else?I hope you have a marvelous time with those grandkids. Our summer break is winding down and there will not be many days left that we can go out and play. I guess weekends are always good, though. If you roll down that hill won't the grandkids roll you back up?

At the moment, I'm on the first of the Saxon trilogy, the title being The Last Kingdom. Then, when I'm through with that, I'm going to read his Stone Henge. I read the Arthur trilogy first, which is the Warlord Series, then the ones about the Lone Archer, which is the Quest for the Grail series. There are still a number I would like to read but my beliefs tend towards Anglo Saxon, and Norse, so Vikings and Saxons are of great interest to me. Ours go back to school the first week in September but I think you break in June whereas we break in July. Emmmmmmmmm, I think they might find me just a tad to heavy to roll back up the hill. I'd probably come back down and steamroller them on the way. ha ha ha. Brightest Blessings.

I read the Anglo Saxon ones first, and I am on the Arthur series. We actually ended school in May, and go back Mid August.

I really like the Arthur Trilogy. You'd do well to read about Thomas of Hookton too. Very good.

Hope you have an enjoyable time with your family, Darkwing. Im sure it will be great. Hopefully you will get a bit of reading in. And hope the chair fitted in! hehe. Looking forward to hearing about your adventure. Today we went to junior sport. The kids all played well. It was freezing though. The wind was icy. Not many games left now and the season will be finished. Best wishes to you, Darkwing, and have a great day

Wow, it's turned a bit cold out there then? We didn't go on the Downs, as the temperature was hovering around the 30s C and there's no shelter up there, so we changed our plans a little. My younger son and his couldn't make it, but we still had good fun. Brightest Blessings.

I am so jealous! How I wish my children and grandchildren lived closer. While two sons are only a four hour drive away, another is a one and a half day drive in the opposite direction and one would take four days to drive so necessitates a long and costly flight. Another son is in England. Have a great day with your family, and we look forward to hearing of all the antics.

Awwwww... I am luck then. This one is 10-15 minutes north and the other 20 minutes south, so I don't have your problems. Sorry to hear that, Cloud. I think they should come to you! :) I did have a great day, but not on the Downs. We changed the plan slightly. Brightest Blessings.

Well right now you should be on the Downs having a wonderful time and I can't wait to hear all about it honey! Hope you get back in one piece with no bumps or broken bones! xxx
@Darkwing (21583)

Nope... didn't go up on the Downs in the end. It was too hot and no shelter, so we changed our plans. But, no bumps and bruised, and despite the younger son and his not being able to come, we had a great time. Brightest Blessings, my friend. xxx

Sounds like alot of fun. Do you have room for me Doll? I wanna come along too!How long is the ride there? What yummies are you making to eat? I think you should roll down one more time! Haver fun Sweets! xoxoxoxoxo
@Darkwing (21583)

Sorry, Raydene... it all got changed about. The ride there is only about fifteen minutes from I live, at the closest point, but there are a lot of spots to choose from, so it varies. We ended up going somewhere else, which I'll tell you all about... we still had fun though, and I had to become involved in this week's project when we got back to my son's. lol. Brightest Blessings.xxx

Sorry I'm posting this a bit late...in any event, I hope you had a great time, and it sounds like a wonderful time to picnic..hope the weather is good to you. Are you sure you don't want to roll down that steep hill....just once? LOL Hope you took a lot of pics that you can share with us--have a great time!!

You weren't late at all, Pye. We only went out today. There was a slight change in the plan though and we didn't go on the Downs, so no hills to roll down! lol. Also, I only managed to get a few pics because the camera batteries weren't properly charged, and ran out. :( Still... it was a fun day, and I mucked in with inventions when I got back to their place. lol. Brightest Blessings.
