Plane trees and the Canal du Midi

I dont really need to look at my new noticeboard to stockpile my nice memories anymore. By travelling on the bus the other day I discovered that the Stadtpark in the city where I live also has the same plane trees I admired so much when we went to a Canal du Midi cruise last year! What gave them away was the tree trunk and I had not paid much attention to them before either! There might not be any canals here and also no barges gliding past, but at least there are some ducks that can be fed, just like we did on the boat before!
