What's the best day to wear jeans?

The other day I was watching an episode of the Rachel Ray show and one of her guests was talking about how to get the perfect pair of jeans. Most of the advice was lost on me as I rarely wear jeans. But, Rachel did say something really funny that struck a chord with me. She said that the best time to wear jeans is on the first day you buy them, because after you bring them home they will never fit the same again! That's so true! Once you start to wash jeans or dry them, they completely fit differently. While there are a few brands that actually fit better after laundry day, there aren't many. One of the best days for me to wear jeans would have to be a day when I don't feel fat. Jeans are not very forgiving, when it comes to extra pounds. So, when are the perfect time to wear your jeans? When you have first purchased them? After several washings? Please share.

I would wear jeans EVERYDAY if I could get away with it. I am a teacher and I teach at a pretty relaxed school, so I probably COULD get away with it, but i like to look more professional than that. The only jeans that fit the same years after washing them are American Eagle jeans.

hi there! ;0 i really like your discussion. :) so girly. :) anyway, my most favorite time to wear my jeans is right after it has been washed. it feels tighter and i like the feeling of tight jeans because they make me feel thin. ahaha! as if im not too thin already. but dont get me wrong, im not having anorexia or something. lolz. :) thank you and good day! :)

But, that's why jeans are so popular! They make you "feel" good.

I don't wear jeans very often either, merely because they make my legs itch. I can't even wear tights for this reason. I only wear them for very special occasions and then can't wait to get them off! lol. However, there was a time in my younger days, when I had a pair of Levi 501s, the ones with the button fly and they were a dream to wear. Washing and drying didn't alter the fit at all. Sadly, I have extra pounds now, and if I wear jeans to go out walking, they're stretch jeans. lolol. Brightest Blessings.

Since the baby came along and the extra pregnancy weight, I try to avoid jeans on most days as well. Just special occasions.

Lol. I have the same opinion as you are. To me, I will only wear jeans on days that I feel a little lighter on my body weight. Lol. In fact just last Saturday my husband and I went downtown to repair the absorber of our car. The night before going, I took out which pair of pants I wanted to wear. At first, I took out my pair of jeans because I wanted to match with my husband, he said he was going to wear jeans. But later I thought of not wearing it because I think I would not look as skinny as I want to. Lol. Later, I took out a pair of slacks and started ironing and put it side by side with the jeans. The next morning, I decided to wear the slacks for the same reason, I don't want to look fat. Lol. And yeah, about wearing it when we first bought it, I really agree to that. I bought this jeans some time before. Immediately after buying it, I wore it without washing it first. Later, after washing, the waist area expanded and when I wear it the opening of the waist at my back will be gaping open. It is very obvious especially when I sit down or bend down to pick something. I feel uncomfortable and have to wear the jeans with long shirt or else, people can see my underwear. Lol. That's my story. Have a nice day!

Yep! I have had that experience myself with my own slacks and pants. Once I bought a dressy casual pair of pants and the first time I wore them, the inseam ripped. And, I was just putting them on. They were very beautiful pants, but after that, they were useless. I'm not a seamstress, so what could I do but throw them away.

For me, the perfect day to wear jeans is EVERYDAY! *LoL* I own more pairs of jeans than anything else. But there is a reason behind it: our family has horses and we ride and care for them everyday. For me, it's a necessity but I also feel more comfortable in jeans than in my other clothing. I have to agree with you though, that jeans fit differently after they've been washed. They tend to fit a lot tighter and it's only after you've been in them for a few hours that it feels like they've stretched back to normal.

For me I can't really think of a day to wear jeans, but that is because I do not wear them nor do I even own a pair, so I guess I would be the last person you would want to ask this question to.

I don't wear jeans very often anymore either. When I was younger, I wore them about everyday, though. I always liked the way they felt after they had been washed several times. They were just so much more comfortable then. I never liked wearing them until I had washed them several times. They just seemed too stiff before that. It seems like now they aren't as stiff as they used to be, though. The last pair I bought wasn't too bad even before I had washed them much. But I guess I still prefer wearing them after they've been worn in some.

I think so far, everytime has been a perfect time to wear jeans. I wear jeans at almost all kinds of occasions except the very formal ones. I think they are wonderfully versatile. My jeans feel ok on the first day I purchased them to the time I give them away, which is many many washes later. I have to agree that certain cuttings are not very forgiving, especially those ultra skin fitting ones. When I throw them into the wash, it seems as though they shrink several centimetres and I have a hard time trying to get into them thereafter. I solve the problem by choosing jeans that do give me some 'space'. This allows some room for shrinkage when I wash them and also permits an expanding waistline.

Hi. I love my jeans and could probably wear jeans everyday, but i dont... I usually wear jeans on cold wintery days or as a casual dress around the house other then trainer pants, or maybe if Im going out grocery shopping or running errands... When I buy a pair of jeans which nowdays is rarely, because I have so many, I tend to wash them out and wear them the next day, for the same fact to get the stiffness out of them and also to get that new, not so flexible feel out of them...

I agree with Robinhood88, I could wear jeans everyday. I love them. I think Levis are the ones that fit better after washing. I wash all my jeans before wearing them. It makes them not so stiff.

one of the best days for me to wear a pair of jeans would be the first day i buy them, and then i break into them and stretch them out,so if i wanted to wear the the next day again they are the most comfortable then.i hate when you first purchase a pair and sometimes they are so stiff, and it makes you feel so uncomfortable and very self consious.so i enjoy them when they are broken in a few times.
