As you guy might have read or browsed through the official web of world of warcraft. A new expansion is in the making, wrath of the lich King. It has new features like the first hero class, new profession, new land, seige with destructable buildings etc and even a level cap of up to lvl 80. I personally liked all the features except the raising of level cap. To me, it will be another quest grind till 80 and the level 70 items will be all rendered useless. They can always make it so that they are harder encouters, items with more variety of stats etc. But oh well, what are you guys' take on the expansion?

You know what, we still haven't got the first expansion TBC in China. It's kinda ironic that there comes the second expansion while we still play the original one.

Really? Wah.. I never knew that. TBC has a lot of interesting content compared to the original game. I guess you can get it through ebay or something

It's really not about the software itself, it is something about the agent that is running WOW here. It's their call whether or not to release the new version. I've been thinking about move to a server outside the mainland, but it's really a tough job to restart over from level 1.

The new profession is inscription. It should be a proffesion where you can craft scrolls and maybe another form of enchantment.

Well, like the first expansion, this one will be a big hit. Even though some players think the Burning Crusade expansion was a complete failure it totally wasn't. Sales flew up and WoW stayed at the top of the MMO competition. I believe this next expansion would even be a bigger hit since it has lots of new things to offer. I bet even old players that migrated to other games might come back to WoW.

Blizzard just wants more gold *cough* money from your wallot. Go on private servers - that's where the real fun lies!

i agree that the level cap to 80 is kinda a pointless venture. i would rather they had raised the cap to 75 and added AA like in eq o so many years ago. i would allow what most people seem to want from wow, diversity in characters to make people unique. i loev the fact that hero-classes are coming but i dont see them as a all encompassing awesomeness everyone is thinking there going to be. we shall see

Yea man, I do like the idea of AA. I never tried EQ1 but I've played EQ2's latest expansion echoes of faydwer and yea theres AA in it so I presume it works in the similar manner. They can come up with AA + Talents, I think thats a pretty cool idea, with Talents truly identify your built and AA to enhance your build. The AA need to be something with minor benefits and should not prove to be a major factor of the game play.

I hear what you are saying. I too would have preferred an expansion of content without an expansion of levels. The only reason I see blizzard having to raise the level cap is due to the type of enemy the player will face. As I've said before, I would also like to see more heroic instances for some of the older content (not just the adding of mobs, but make the dungeons a bit more direct and interesting. 10 minute ZF pyramid fight anyone?) But I digress. It should be quite a sight looking at the newer expansion details as they come.
