sleeping is very important to our bodies,if we haven't take enough sleeping at night,we would be tired in daytime,if you have an insomniac, you maybe have something psychological, you may go to hospital for help.if just for your routine i think you can take a rest in afternoon.i usually go to bed at 23 and wake up at about 8.

i sleep 8hours a day. Sleep is the state of natural rest observed in humans and throughout the animal kingdom, in all mammals and birds, and in many reptiles, amphibians, and fish.[1] In humans, other mammals, and many other animals that have been studied — such as fish, birds, ants, and fruit-flies — regular sleep is necessary for survival. The capability for arousal from sleep is a protective mechanism and also necessary for health and survival.Sleep is generally characterized by a reduction in voluntary body movement, temporary blindness, decreased reaction to external stimuli, loss of consciousness, a 70% reduction in audio receptivity, an increased rate of anabolism (the synthesis of cell structures), and a decreased rate of catabolism (the breakdown of cell structures).Breathing patterns change significantly from wakefulness at sleep onset and during different sleep stages. Pathologic breathing during sleep results in increased morbidity and mortality.

I usually get around 7 hours of sleep each night, but it really just depends. If my son is teething or is feeling sick or anything, I don't get as much sleep. Same thing if my husband or one of my pets is sick. Sometimes when my husband is off work I get less sleep, too, because he wants me to stay up late talking to him or watching a movie with him or whatever. And I still have to get up at the same time as normal to fix breakfast and take care of our toddler. If we are out late as a whole family, I might get to sleep in later, though, because my baby will be tired out and sleep straight through.

My sleep time varies from as short as 1 hour to as long as 12 hours. It all depends on what I have to do before I sleep. If I am testing or debugging a program, then I would not have much time to sleep but when I have nothing to do, I would ended up spending many hours on my bed.

I just did the math and you're sleeping 6 to 8 hours, so that is about normal. But it's not my usual sleep pattern. Mine is 9PM to 6AM. So mine is about 9 hours. Mostly because my eyes need one more hour of "shut-eye" than my body. My eyes have always needed more rest than the rest of me. Take care

For me, it would depend on the day's activities. I do not have a fix sleeping hours although lately I would prefer to sleep early and wake up early too. Its also depend on the working hours as I do not have a fixed working hours for every few months. If I have to start work early in the morning, then I will have to sleep early.
