I believe that world economy is dependent solely on oil. Can you imagine this world without oil? Technology bring us yet another invention in the form of electric cars. What would happen if all the existing cars in the world today will be replaced by electric ones?

Well for one it would bring down the price of oil. Because even though we use oil to generate electricity, there are other choices that are much cheaper than oil. With the advancement in Solar Power technology and the search for a cleaner and sustainable sources of energy it would come sooner than later.

I don't know if they can change the world economy as much as we think they can. After all, they still use petroleum products (read oil) and coal to produce the electricity that these cars run off of. I'm hopeful that they will come up with some other form of renewable power. They are experimenting with fuel made from corn, soybeans and other food plants, as well as the methane that is produced from farm animals and human waste plants. Instead of looking to non-renewable energy to get us through, we should be looking for something that can be replenished that we can grow and change into energy. Some vehicles can now run on the used oil from french fry machines (etc.) and instead of it being thrown away, it can be used as a fuel and thereby doing double duty.
