Has this happened to you?

I put in a bid for $9.97 and at the last minute I was out bid by the winning bid of $10.03. I asked EBay abut it and they said that it was alright to do that. I always thought that it had to go over (depending on how much the bid is at) by at least $0.50 but I got out bid by less that $0.10. Has this happened to you?

I always wait until the very last second to bid and then you don't have to worry about someone outbidding you. Of course I guess this does not work if you are at work or something when the item goes off. When this happens I just enter the MAX I am willing to pay and hope for the best.

I have hears that there are some programs that will do that for you, put a bid in at the last second or two so that no one else has a chance to snipe it from you. There are a lot of "snipers that wait until the last possible second to put their bids in and therefor are winning more unless the maximum bid is a lot higher then your bid is. My computer is just to slow to do that.

I use this site http://www.biddingscheduler.com to do just that. I set the max price i intend to pay and set it to bid 5 secs. before the auction ends, usually it works.

This happens to me all of the time. But last night i did the same thing to someone else. The bid was $34.50 an i bidded $34.75 with one seconds to go. An i ended up winning the auction.I was shocked, but im glad i won this time. You would think ebay would make you bid 50 cent to a $1.00 higher when the auction is just about to end.It sure makes me mad when i lose an auction by a few pennies or cents. So i know how you feel.

i've been outbidded many times i think, i can't remember by how much though. but usually if you've been outbidded, of course you'll feel rather frustrated yeah? if i really want the item i would be like "i knew i should have bidded more!" or something like that, if not then i'd search for the item again on ebay.

Unfortunately that does happen to a lot of people and yes I believe all auctions have different bid increments. Plenty of times I'm on the screen and keep refreshing because there's like a few seconds left and I'm winning and then all of sudden - boom - I'm out and someone else won!! There are bidders who wait for 10 seconds before it's over and then swipe the item right out from underneath you!! I think they get off on the feeling of the rush of adrenaline. A while back that was happening a lot and then in my account screen it would show the item won was by a (0) feedback score and in about 5-7 days later the item was relisted because the (0) score never paid after they won - that's why I believe it's a rush that gets them off!

Depending on what you were bidding on, different items go up by different amounts..When I put a bid in I always add an extra few cents just to make sure that I get it..

Well, I never experienced losing in ebay by $0.06. I think (though I'm not really positive) the least that I was outbid was $0.25. From your situation, I don't know if that happens a lot because from what I'd observed, the normal increments between bids are at least $0.25-$0.50. It's really frustrating if you only lose by that much amount especially losing in the final minute or should I say, in the final seconds after watching the item for a couple of days. But then, that's life...
