My seven year old son has the habit of developing these funny expressions or movement every now or then. He will suddenly start making this funny noise and he will continue making it for about a fortnight. Then he will make a funny face and continue for a few weeks with that. This has been happening for a couple of years now. I read about it in Dr Spock's book and these are called tics in children, Kids have no control over these actions. He said to ignore it but if it persists for a long time say beyond a month, then the child needs to visit a doctor. My son's tics keep changing though. Has it anything to do with lack of self-confidence or insecurity etc.? Has any one of you faced this problem? If so, what have you done about it? It would help greatly. Thanks
