Replacing broken Macbook LCD

I was tired from 1 week of packing and from carrying my 42lb carry-on (yes, it was 2 lbs overweight but nobody checked!) and hungry too because my flight was delayed yet again. I just wanted to buy some food so I put my laptop back on top of my carry-on and my carry-on decided to fall down dragging the laptop bag with it. When I checked my macbook, the LCD was broken. I know my friend had the same problem with her Toshiba and she was advised that it was cheaper to just buy a new one than to replace the LCD. Is this true with the MAcbook? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I searched for the keyword "replace broken macbook lcd," and the advice of the macheads is to REPLACE. honestly, macs live on for DECADES. it's not like the usual laptop that would only be garbage once a part is broken. methinks you should just have the LCD replaced instead of tossing your baby out. it's a mac, after all..

I am a plumber and I recently switched to mac to run my customer plumbing files. Windows was crashing everytime a plumbing customer called me. The mac is great! I love it. When a plumbing customer calls I am able to bring up my customer information fast. My question is can I run windows on MAC so I can move my files over? Andy elocalplumbers.com
