 I love reading!
Though I read blogs mostly now, I still try to get through a book every month. I kinda failed at it, because I haven't finished a book since July 2011, but I'm not being too perfectionist about not hitting THAT target.

 Hmm.
Here in the Philippines, we fancy that people in the US have less ties to their neighbors than we do. Now that I read stories like these, in some parts, people are actually more tied to their neighbors than here in our shores.
I believe you basically did the right thing, bagarad, though, if I were in your shoes, I'd have stopped worrying up until I sent her off to the hospital.

 Oh wow, so cool, ratyz5! :D Haha, I thought about that, but I tried to err on the side of caution. So. :p
Anyhoo, the problem isn't internet access per se. I think it's just that that region (Japan included), has a very permissive view of suicide. In fact, in Japan, it's rather honorable to take one's own life after a failure.
A very sad fact, and an ailment of the culture in that area.
