I went to work at a newspaper right after college that still had a computer like that. I had to re-learn how to type because the keys were completely different (for example, the quotation marks were over where the page down keys are now).

Remember the first computers, when you had to type in the program you wanted and didn't have a mouse.

When you left the house to play with your friends in the morning and only came back when the sun went down and no one was worried ..

My parents used to leave us home by ourselves because they weren't afraid of anything happening to us.

I remember when you could leave your front door open and not worry about being attacked or having anything stolen.

I was going to put that one, but decided on the other! lol. I remember when penny sweets were actually a penny. I remember when a can of coca cola cost £0.17. I remember when corona used to pay you to recycle their bottles.

I remember buying soda out of the soda machine and having it come out in a glass bottle. There was a bottle opener attached to the machine.

I remember when gasoline cost less than a dollar a gallon! I remember when I thought size 14 was fat (now I'd kill to get back there!!!) I remember when it was fun to watch the Miss America pageant.

I remember the Miss American pageant being a big deal too. Probably because, at the time, it was the only show you could see women in swimsuits.

I remember walking down to the market when my Mom needed something (like milk, eggs, etc.) when I was 8 year old. I never thought about getting abducted or hurt by strangers... Now I look all around me when I walk from my house to my car. Times have changed:(

Exactly, see? That's my point-I wouldn't let mine play unsupervised either! It's just so sad... I wish my children could grow up in a world like I felt like I did when I was a little girl.
