For me, it depends. If I don't have much time to spare I watch the news on TV. But if I have extra time, I read it from the newspaper.

I love to read news from newspapers and the Internet and listen to news on radio. I usually read and listen to nes when I am free. I also love to watch news on TV as the news is more vivid on TV. I am a news lover.

I prefer reading to watching. I know when reading we are influenced by the author. But the curiosity is alive when reading. When its on tele, everything is put on a picture, and there is no room for curiosity.

I agree. The only downside with reading the news is that it is time consuming. Despite this, it is more comprehensive and more beneficial than watching the news.

i prefer to read the news than watch it. i can digest all the details and i can go through it slowly, and i can by pass it for a more interesting news then return to it when i'm done. newspapers offers a more detailed news and information and it covers a wide variety.

Yeah, nice point too. In TV we can't ask for a replay of the news if we miss something unlike in the paper where you can go back at it.

i prefer to watch news on tv...i mean, reading is good...but i think it is time consuming...especially, if english is not your first language and it is written in english 'cause you have to translate it...the problem with reading news is that sometimes it makes use of jargons that can't be understood by ordinary persons...while, if someone watch it on tv, whether it is english or not, the viewer may somehow tend to have an idea of what is going on...

for me its a combination of both. Although i watch the daily news on the tv but still it dosent cover up everything adn going through the newspapers not only give detailed coverage of the news it also can be kept as a record for future reference. Another area which i actively use to collect infromation is internet. Especially when one needs to analize the companies to invest in the stock market.

I prefer to watch the news on TV, as opposed to reading it in the newspaper. I like to hear what is going on right away. On the other hand, I like the more indepth stories that are printed in magazines like Newsweek and Time, but for local daily news, I like to watch it on TV.

I watch the TV news. It is much more comprehendable for me. For our local news I listen to the TV and read it in the newspaper. If I hear about it on the TV, then read it I understand it so much better. LOL

computers; an exelent news source - The news comes to me on the computer screen.
*
My computer runs all day anyway and is always doing something, so why not read a newspaper online with it? The news is just as good if not better in electronic format. No trees die. No extra electricity is used because the computer was already working at another project.
Neither the newspaper or the TV brings me my news. The news comes to me on the computer screen. * The news on TV comes in info-tainment nuggets laden with commercials and very light on information. I find it a waste of my time. * Newspapers are a waste of trees. My computer runs all day anyway and is always doing something, so why not read a newspaper online with it? The news is just as good if not better in electronic format. No trees die. No extra electricity is used because the computer was already working at another project.

Well, I prefer neither at times because it's all so boring and repetitive. And most of the news is exaggerated. But a bit of both would be fine with me.

Same here. If I have time I read the newspapers, but if not I do heard news on tv and read on the internet. We have different kinds of newspapers here and some tabloids but I just read on the headlines and read only the important ones. Given the choice, I prefer reading the newspaper rather than reading news in the internet.

I mostly want to the news right now & the current events. If I'm really desperate for news I'll go to the radio. Mostly tho, if the choice is between tv or paper, I'll go for the TV every time.

It also depends just like you. I dont have so mucg time to read newspapers during weekdays. I only watched news on television before going to work and after work. Though I find time in reading newspapers during weekends since that is the only time I can read it. Its nice to read when you have nothing to do but if there's a lot of work to do then you must have set priorities.

Hello mkcallejo, I prefer to read the newspaper rather than watch the news on TV. I always read the newspaper right after I reach my office. That is the only free time I have for the whole day. Once I get back home after my office hour, I will be very busy with the house chores and attending to my family needs. I don't even have the time for myself nor to watch the TV too. So for the time being, I only read the newspaper to get myself updated with things around me.

I guess if it is a good story I would like to read it in the newspaper to get the in depth story. The news has a tendency of just giving you the highlights and then moving on. The newspaper also does a better job at following up on certain stories. The news will show you a big story and then have you wondering what the outcome was.
