Who Do Your Kids Look the Most Like?

Sometimes you can just look at a child and know that they belong to a certain parent because they have such a strong resemblance. Do your kids look more like you or your mate? I've always been told that my second oldest daughter looks just like me. The rest look like their fathers(I have been married 3 times). Some kids even look like a grandparent. My only brother looks a lot like our grandfather did. Especially now that he has gotten older.

Well, 3lilangels, sometimes people who are not so involved can see things that we overlook because we're too close to the situation on a daily basis.

All three of our kids [they're my grandsons but I live with them and their mom] looked so much alike when they were babies and growing up for the first year that I have a hard time telling them apart in the baby pictures. Of course my daughter doesn't though! Now as to who they look the most like, well all three have the same mother [my daughter] AND father and they are mixed race. The oldest boy looks hispanic and has only a slight resemblance to his father. We have to keep his hair cut to the scalp or it grows out looking so terrible. The middle boy looks mostly white with just a slight olive tone to his skin. He has reddish hair [auburn]. He is thin and looks more like his grandpa's side of the family [his mother's dad's side]. The youngest boy looks mixed like his oldest brother but doesn't exactly look like his older brother. All three boys look so different from their mother and myself. The boys are beautiful but no one can say that they look just like anybody else in the family because they don't. It's slight resemblance only. Genetics are weird.

Yes, horsesrule, genetics are strange, but I'd be willing to bet that if you were to go back far enough into family photos you would find a resemblance to someone, lol.

I hate your question, I just had to tell you. Now I have to tell you why, I hate your question, it reminds me of natures cruel joke. Yeah see I carried two pregnancies full term, for those that don't know this, that a 9 month period. I not only carried them, I did so with them doing everything wrong to my body they could have done. From unending morning sickness to throwing my back out, they did it. I tossed cookies from 1 week after conception till delivery. Then the off set of the baby weight caused my back to go out on my first one and I ended up bed ridden for weeks. But I didn't care at the time, I was bringing part of me into this world and it was worth it. Then the day comes I do just that, and...BOTH of them don't look a darn thing like me, but HIM! Yeah they look just like the one parent that had only 5 minutes involvement in their creation! I am so sick of my kid’s teachers thinking I am their step mom I could scream. Any ways, no I am not really mad about, just felt like be a bit dramatic is all. I love my girls and it’s doesn’t matter they don’t look a thing like me, as long as they have my personality and are healthy kids, which they do and are, I am happy. :oD

That's an amusing way to look at the situation, sunshine. While it might not always be visible, kids do carry traits from both their parents-for better or worse, lol.

My son looks a lot like his father however he does have some features of mine like the foreheard, lips, and nose. He has his fathers eyes and ears, hair and torso, while my son has my long legs and his daddies big feet LOL

That's interesting, maddysmommy, because sometimes we do have to step back and take a good, hard look at our offspring to see exactly who they are.

Our youngest daughter looks just like my wife and every on tells her that. The twins, however look just like one of ther cousins when she was younger. It is funny that when you compare picture at the same age they look like they could be the same people.

Yeah, that's very interesting how they can take after other family members, 1grnthmb. It reminds me of the old Patty Duke show with the identical cousins, lol.

My oldest son looks like his father. When we look at the picture of my hubby (his dad) when he was the same age as my oldest son, they both look similar. The younger son has features that came from me and my family's side, although he also got few features from his father, my hubby.
