I am currently in the process of starting a weekly newspaper and lots of ideas are popping in my head. I would like to actually publish a novel or novella in my paper one chapter per week to help get people hooked on the paper. I don't want to write the novel - heavens knows I don't have that kind of time. I'll gladly give the author credit. Can anybody help me with this. I don't want to break any copywrite laws.

You need to do more than just publish parts of a book, you need to pay someone to write it. Just giving the author credit will not suffice. You will need a lawyer to draw up a contract with a writer.

I think it is important to talk to a lawyer about htis or a friend familiar to the law. They can provide you with advice and it might also depend to where you are located.
