Im very excited to go home tonight for dinner, its the birthday of my boyfriend's mother and he is preparing food and the new recipe is the chicken pandan. This is the first time that he is cooking that recipe and im looking forward and now hungry but I will have to wait for two hours before I go home for im still in the office working for a four hours overtime due to lack of manpower. I keep on imagining and wondering how would it taste like. ANd out of cusriousity I browsed the internet for the picture and the recipe for chicken pandan and it sure looks yummy, I just hope it would reach my expectations. I love chicken and its only grilled chicken, fried chicken and adobo chicken that I commonly eat and not much on other type of chicken cooking. How about you mylotters, have you tasted chicken pandan? Does it taste good?I hope we can all share an answer these questions. Happy mylotting.

i love chicken pandan,...in my country Malaysia, this is one of the famous chicken dish for the malay peoples...It's really taste nice and I just love it...you know, whatever meat or chicken marinated in coconut milk will turn out to be nice in taste after grilling them...and the pandan leave aroma just nice to smell in the chicken itself.

I eat this dish often enough, and it is yummy. It is boneless chicken meat marinated in Thai sauces, then wrapped in pandan leaf and cooked. The aroma from pandan leaves on meats is really tantalizing. And usually in Thai cooking, there are sauces or dips that come with their dishes. We have many Thai restaurants here, and it is easy to get to try the dish whenever we feel like having Thai food. In fact, Thai food is one of my favourites, among many varieties of food that we can get to eat here.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it but I don't eat Thai food because it's generally rather spicy and that doesn't appeal to me. I don't like hot spicy food. I like chicken but I prefer it grilled or charbroiled plain and with flavorful spices but not hot spicy.

Im sorry about the spicy thing, its a good variety of food chicken cookig but the problem is the preparation process, it takes long to wrap each chicken slice with pandan leaves.

Yes it's really good! I am lucky that we have many Thai restaurants around here and I could taste that whenever I want to. The chicken itself is quite dry (yet it is so soft) and it's not greasy at all! It has the herbs' flavor and it goes especially well with the source, it's a little sour and spicy. I love that a lot! You should try when you get a chance too! It's really yummy!

I have tried it and by far its the best chicken recipe I have ever tasted. Its spicy and very rich flavor, with the smell of it alone is very trmptingly yummy. I hope I will have another chance to eat it again and again.

I think I have tasted that and yep, it does taste good! A friend of mine saw a recipe of that in a food magazine and it looked so delicious that she decided to cook it for lunch. She brought some to my house and I had a blast eating it! Ate 2 cups of rice with the four pieces she gave me (LOL!) partly because the sauce was so good :)

yes i have! it's called pandan chicken here. the chicken is wrapped in pandan leaves. is your husband from south east asia? this is a common dish here. and also common in thailand i think. the fragrance from the pandan seeps into the chicken and makes it taste yummy. pandan is very versatile. there is pandan cake as well, which is super yummy. and pandan used in red bean soup. and barley water. :)

hi i havent tasted thai chicken pandan-but ihave tried thai chicken satay with peanut sauce. here's the recipe. CHICKEN SATAY Ingredients: • 8-16 skinless chicken thighs, cut into small pieces or strips, • SATAY MARINADE: • 1/4 cup minced lemongrass, fresh or frozen (if using fresh, discard the upper stalk of lemongrass) • 1 small onion, quartered • 2 cloves garlic • 1 thumb-size piece galangal or ginger, peeled and sliced • 1/4 of thumb-size piece fresh turmeric, OR 1/2 tsp. dried turmeric • 2 Tbsp. coriander seeds, ground in a coffee grinder, OR 1 Tbsp. ground coriander • 2 tsp. cumin • 3 Tbsp. dark soy sauce • 4 Tbsp. fish sauce • 5 Tbsp. brown sugar • 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice Method: 1. Cut chicken or beef into thin pieces or strips). Place in a bowl. 2. Place all marinade ingredients in a mixer or a grinder and make a paste. 3. Taste the marinade. The strongest tastes should be SWEET and SALTY in order for the finished satay to taste its best 4. Add the marinade to the meat and stir well to combine. Allow to marinate for at least 1 hour, or longer (up to 24 hours). 5. When ready to cook, barbecue the satay, OR grill on an indoor grill, OR broil it in the oven on a broiling pan or baking sheet with the oven set to "broil" 6. Depending on how thin your meat is, the satay will cook in 10 to 20 minutes. 7. Serve with rice and Thai peanut sauce for dipping. THAI PEANUT SAUCE: Ingredients: • 1 cup fresh-tasting dry roasted peanuts, unsalted • 1/3 cup water • 2 cloves garlic, minced • 1/2 tsp. dark soy sauce • 2 tsp. sesame oil • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar • 2 Tbsp. fish sauce (If vegetarian, use vegetarian fish sauce or regular soy sauce) • 1/2 tsp. tamarind paste OR 1/2 Tbsp. lime juice • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, OR 1 tsp. Thai chili sauce (more or less to taste) • 1/3 cup coconut milk Method of Preparation: 1. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blend or process until sauce is smooth. 2. Do a taste test, adding more fish sauce if not salty enough, or more cayenne if not spicy enough. If too salty, add a squeeze of fresh lime juice. If you'd prefer it sweeter, add more sugar. 3. Serve warm or at room temperature as a dip with fresh veggies, with chicken or beef satay, fresh spring rolls, or other Asian finger foods. Or mix with noodles to create a Thai-style noodle dish or cold noodle salad. Enjoy!
