What is your cat's favorite toy or game?

My cat is arambunctious and always wants to be the center of attention. She is definitely not the curl up in the sun type. (it's probably too hot for that). Instead, she wants to play. Her favorite game lately is tag the Ma. That means she waits until I am walking away from her, it wouldn't do for me to see her, and then jumps up and wraps herself around my shin. If she's feeling really ornery or if I've been ignoring ehr attempts to play, she will nibble at my knee to get my attention. Then, she dashes off to one of the places that are base (just like a kid playing tag) and waits for me to come after her. She'll wait until I get close to her "base" and then zoom off to another one. There is at least one base in every room...a dryel bag in bedroom, the bottled water in the kitchen, under the dining room table and any air conditioning vent...oh, and under the shower curtain in the bathroom.
This game of tag continues until she surrenders by dropping at your feet and rolling on her back so you can scratch her belly. Then we begin kitty boxing.
Is she insane or do your cats play games like this? What is your cat's favorite game?

My cats have several toys however one of them is the little colored mice with a bit of a tail. Gracie loves those the best. Daisy and Chopper like anything with catnip in it. Rascal and Chopper like the ball inside of a plastic circle like toy and the like the scratch pad in the center which has catnip as well. We have so many toys for all of them that it's like I'm picking up after my kids before bedtime. lol But I wouldn't have it any other way! They're my babies and I want them to be as happy as a cat(s) can be.

We've never given Rainy catnip 'cause she's crazy enough without it! But I know she would love it. One of my friends gave me catnip seeds as part of a Christmas present last year so that I could grow fresh catnip and Rain nearly tore the box apart trying to get at it.
You sound like your kitties have as many toys as Rainy does. She has her own toy box and the funniest thing is when she digs in the box and pulls out the toy she wants to play with and then drops it at your feet.
You get them presents every time you go to the store, don't you? Its okay, I do it too!

That's funny about the catnip plant. I wonder what it is that they like about it. I know it makes them crazy and do funny and crazy things which gives us a good laugh or two. And yes I'm forever shopping in the pet department for something new to give them. lol That's why they have so darn many now! lol

Hello to moonshadow and the lovely Rain! She is certainly a character! As far as toys go - well all mine have their own favorites. Sasha has always been happiest with just a piece of string to chase, Henry has a squeaky cat toy on a piece of string, while Frodo loves his "mousey", which is a stuffed red and white strped mouse on a long piece of string. Wilby is quite old now, and overweight, and doesn't care much for playing (unless there is food somewhere involved in it!), and Clarence is quite a new addition so I'm still learning what his favourite is! For Lily though - it would have to be Mitenka - a stuffed sheep that squeaks (see picture below), Lily loves to go up to Mitenka and press his tummy with her paw or her nose so he sqeaks! She particularly loves doing that in the middle of the night to wake everyone up, as his squeak can actually be quite loud in the silence of the night!

No - I've never tried that! Not even sure that you can get them here! I'll have to ask next time I go to the vet or th Pet Shop. Glad you liked the photo - Lily has a lot more fur than that now of course - it is growing back fast:-))

they have those toys at Petco here, the specialty pet store, so that's where I would look. Good luck!

Mitenka sounds like the perfect pouncy toy! And yes, I'm sure that Lily waits until you are sleeping soundly before pouncing. she's smart that way :)
Have you tried those balls that you have to play with to get the food out for Wilby? That might make him play...Or, he might just be allowed to be a snoozy kitty since he's old and earned the right.

Let's see, what were the crazy games my cats loved... Vlad was always entertained by anything we threw on the ground for him to play with--mostly things like empty toilet paper rolls and crumpled up paper or paper bags. I think he liked the noise it would make skittering across the hardwood floors. Moxie was never really as into games with any of the people in the apartment; but she did like to wrestle with Vlad. I think that since we had two cats, they were far happier playing with each other than with their humans. :)

Rainy love guaranteed. She's so spoiled :)
She likes her noisy toys too, but she's really a people cat.
And after beating the squeak out of her first door mouse in less than 24 hours, she rarely plays with the new one.

My cats favorite toy is string. He loves string of any kind. Sometimes I can tie it to a doorknob and let him entertain himself but usually he's all about me playing with him with the string.
His other favorite game to play is "chase me around the apartment". He's goofy like that. He used to play fetch when he was younger. That was MY favorite, but he doesn't do that so much anymore which makes me sad.
I love my cat.

Rain likes strings too. She has a big thick shoestring that she likes to play with too. I can occassionally convince her to play fetch, but mostly she doesn't like to bring the ball back to me. She just bats it around herself.

It's very cute that Reggie wants to play and tells you so...Rainy does that kind thing too.
