Do you buy the lovely baby crrots in cello bags? I used to love them for veggies and dip. Now after reading the attached article I think I will stick to market carrots, cut off the the tops myself and slice them into bite size chunks. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/070818/health/health_carrots_warning Also there has been a recall of canned green beans sold as a no name brand http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20070802/beans_070802? I don't use canned vegetables other than tomatoes and and kidney beans nor any prepared foods or mixes but it makes me wonder if all our illnesses and cancers come from the cr*p we eat.

We don't use canned vegetables or foods - or I don't too much for all the additives and preservatives that wreak havoc on our body (I do do some fast food though!). I do prefer those baby carrots and haven't heard of that particular recall - is that here in the U.S. too? I know we had these great premade spinach salad bags and other lettuce that was realled. Scary world, Lindalinda. Great timely topic!

Thanks for posting this. True or not, I did check my baby carrots and they are a product of Canada. I also don't used canned vegetables except for tomatoes and kidney beans on the odd occasion I make chili (husband doesn't much care for it). It does seem like everything we consume is harmful and there doesn't seem like a whole lot we can do about it.

Thanks for the warning. I've just recently got into the habit of eating those types of carrots again, after spending the last two years buying (and growing) regular carrots and chopping them (after the last recall announcement).
