hey everyone!! When you touch your pet, may it be a dog or a cat or whatever, eventhough you take care of it and see to that it does not do any dirty things, will you eat food after touching or caressing your pet without washing your hands. Some people dont wash and argue their dogs are as clean as them. how about you?

Oh my gosh YESSSS!! lol I won't go near food unless I've washed my hands no matter what I've been into. Heck stuff doesn't get returned to the refrigerater unless it's been wiped off. No way! I'm a clean freak when it comes to the kitchen and food. The same goes for my bathroom and bed linens.

Some times I forget to wash my hands straight afterward. Of course I do if I plan on handling food straight away, but other times I'm not really fussed. I'm generally healthy and not too worried about germs - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Hi, Vijay1wdv!! I think we should wash hands when we touch our pet. The pet runs anywhere they want. It is very necessary to wash hands. ^_^

I always wash my hands after touchin ANY animal. Sometimes i'm told "It's alright, i washed the dog yesterday". . . It will always be a dog. Dogs eat dogfood and feaces and dirt and grass and roll in whatever and LICK THEMSELVES. Always wash your hands after touching animals, even if you don't believe it is necessary, it's just manners!

I dont wash after i pet my animal. I just wash my hands before I prepare food. Animals are not clean and you should wash before making or eating food.

I guess I as guilty for this as anyone. I have some santizing gel next to the bed just for this reason. Because we stay in the bedroom during the summer time because it's the only room in the house with air conditioning. But I am guilty of it. But I am aware of washing my hands after bathroom use, so I always santize my hands IF I am going to be eating something, that santizing gel really dry your hands out too.

If I'm going to cook food, especially for others, I definitely wash my hands. If I can smell the animal on my hands I definitely wash my hand. I have a cat myself and I pet him many times and don't wash my hands after. I don't think your pets are all that clean, but I don't think they're much dirtier than you half the time really.

I do always wash my hands after touching a dog or cat. I have a small baby and I do think it is more hygienic when I have clean hands. I also let my husband wash his hands after smoking before touching the baby

I always wash my hands after touching my dog. I don't know how people can pet their dog or cat and continue eating.
