Shocker of a preseason for Real Madrid!!

Wow... that happened so long ago I don't even remembered what place Real Madrid finished on... However, the pre-season matches are not the best guide if you want to foresee a team's performance for the following season. There are many reasons for a team to lose friendly pre-season games: the coach tries out young players or new team formulas and tactics, or they loose games for financial purposes. By the latter remark, I rally the games played for lots of money by big European clubs (Real Madrid, AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, etc.) in the Middle East, in Asia or in the USA. Sometimes you have to loose or draw a game or two in order to please the local audience, so that they might pay you again in the future for similar games.
