We have to move to a new house and its really far from the place i grew up. I have 2 dogs, but we're only allowed to bring just one of them. The day has come for us to leave. And the dog seems so happy that we'll be moving. But we have to decide... we gave the dog to our grandmother living near to that old house. I was the last person to leave and i saw him. He's looking at me as if he's asking "why?" i hugged my dog and gave him foods. And i told him "Im so sorry baby, but this will be the last time ill feed you...Dont worry ill be back and get you..." and tears fell down from my eyes... He even went outside as if he's saying goodbye... Up until now i was crying for that dog... but we dont have a choice but to get the other one...

Why aren't you allowed to have the two dogs?? I hope there is someway you can have both dogs, I really do. I can feel your sadness about parting with the one dog, and must have been a hard decision to have to leave him...like I said I hope you can somehow have the two dogs together!

Sacrificialclam --you know trying to find a place to live isn't easy anymore..yes maybe she could have "stuck" it out until she found a place that allowed two dogs, but maybe could she have afforded it?? Sometimes when one is finding a new place to live period one has to take into consideration what one can afford..did you ever think of that? I'm lucky that my rent is relatively low since I've lived here so long...and I have two cats...I used to have more but had to give mine up..it was either that or be evicted, and I just can't afford a place for the average of what the rent is nowadays, which is about $1,500 for a studio

My, my arent' we grand and noble, so self sacrificing. The OP from what I see, is not an animal abuser or neglectful of her pets--this situation is no doubt causing her great emotional distress. Not everyone can be so valiant as you seem to come across. At least she did place her other dog with someone who COULD take care of it, rather than just dumping in the street the way so many do I'm not an animal abuser or neglectful either and I'm more than annoyed that you may think that of me. I've had pets since I've been five years old--I have always but always taken care of the cats up unto their deaths, that is until a few years ago when my mother created a serious situation..the reason I had to get rid of the excess number of cats, was due to a problem my mother created as she developed serious psychological problems during the last few years of her life including being a hoarder of pets--she created a situation that was out of control and we were threatened with eviction---where were we supposed to go? My mother was of extreme bad health also with cancer, and I'm disabled--I did make sure that the cats were placed in safe places with pet rescuers--As Oreo said you've been attacked the OP which is against the guidelines, and I've reported you to MyLot

I am sad for you. I understand how it feels like when you have to leave your dog behind. I had to make a decision like what you've done. I had a cat. At that time I was not working. Later I was offered a job which needed me to move and live at the city. I couldn't afford my own house so I stayed with one of my relatives. I couldn't bring him with me because my relatives hate cats. It was a tough decision for me to leave him behind at our old house and he had to learn to find his own food. I told my neighbor to look after him, just give him food that's all but she didn't like cats too and I know she would not feed him properly. I came back once a week and everytime I went back I always see him sitting on his sofa which I purposely put under the garage. He never left the house and I often cry seeing him very loyal and waiting for me all the time. I tried a couple of times bringing him to my relatives house but when I came back from work I heard so many complaints, so I had to leave him back at my old house. I feel so guilty but there's nothing else to do. I love him very much, that's for sure.

Well If I were you I wouldnt have moved in that house if I couldnt bring both my dogs with me. So I dont know why your upset because you made the choice to move to another house. Now you can deal with it too.

I feel sorry for you; my best advice is to just take this apartment for now and try, try, try to find a new apartment that will allow you to have two dogs! I can relate, though, because I am looking for a new, pet-friendly apartment (because I have a cat) that's also wheelchair accessible and on a bus route (good luck to me!)

poor you and puppy...i think pets also feel when things are different or disturbing... my dad has been in the hospital for a month and my parents cat wanders around the house looking for him...she misses him.

I would never have moved if I couldn't take both of my dogs with me. End of discussion. When we moved to CA from TX we actually ended up spending almost two months in a hotel while we searched for a place because the first apt. we wanted to rent had changed their pet policy and one dog was teh right size but the other was 5 pounds too big. They gave us a hard time at first but we got higher powers involved, got our deposit back and found a place where both pets were welcome. I could never leave my furry babies behind!

How very sad. Poor you. He'll probably get lots of loving from Grannie and he will need it because he will miss you as well as missing his dog companion. They are very much pack animals and really enjoy company both dog company and human company.

I am sorry to hear that, but still i believe you should have looked out for another place where you are allowed to have two dogs.

Right now,I really don't want to be in your place because just like how you are feeling, it is just so sad. It really breaks my heart, honestly it hurts! And I really don't want to be in your place because next year, I will be moving to another place, another house.. To think, I 4 dogs which are already 6 months old.. and the residence that I will be transferring is not allowing me to even have a dog! :(:::: huhuhuhuhu.. it is just so sad to even think that I have to leave all my dogs behind! :( It is just so sad for me. I can't put into words how I am feeling now and how I will be feeling when I will be leaving all my dogs. :( I hope you'll be fine. Just love the dog that you brought with you more than ever. Best of luck to you and take care.

This is really sad. I understand how you feel. Dogs have this look that seems to say "don't leave me". I can't even bear to look at my dog as I leave for work in the morning. She always wants to go wherever I want to go. When I left her in the clinic for observation, she was upset and didn't eat at all. When I visited her the next day, she seemed like crying but I still left her there. that was very sad for me. But leaving your dog is even sadder. I hope you could get it as soon as you can. Poor dog.
