Have you ever been to marriage counseling?

Or any kind of counseling? Just curious what people's experiences have been when going to marriage counseling or relationship counseling to try and repair a relationship.

I have been to counselling to try and repair a relationship. To put it bluntly - it did not work. It was not a waste of time because it made me think about why I wanted to continue a relationship which was really over.

yeah, sometimes you need an outside view to help you truly see something you already know is true.

Never was and hope I never will need to go. We are together for 3 years now, of course we argue sometimes, but its nothing serious. I really hope we won't ever need counseling for our marriage.

You didn't go to pre-marriage counseling? Our church requires it, and so do some states. It's not a bad thing to make sure you've talked about the big issues before you tie the knot. Going to counseling isn't a bad thing!

Pre-marriage counselling is not a part of our culture (though my dad did suggest it). We haven't been to any kind of counselling. But I think we need to and husband doesn't think we need to (there you go- now you know why we DEFINITELY need it..lol) I'm curious to know what happens in there.

No.But may be this is time to reconstruct my views. There is nothing wrong to ask for professional help if we cant really find the solvation of our problem.
