whats the way to save money?

the best way i save is not to spend....o things that i dont really need like magazines.... etc.... and when i go food shopping i look out for the bargins... and the deals.... i also cook from scratch so i dont buy ready made meals etc...... we also put money straight from our wages into a saving account.... to pay for big bills etc...

According to the book "RIchest Man in Babylon" the best way to save is to "Pay Yourself First." This means, whenever you get your monthly income, dump 10% of it into a private account that is really difficult for you to touch and then....all you have to do is to watch this cash pile grow and compound in the bank. Its also good to be careful with ones personal expenses. Some pleasures, as they say are often best deffered for another day.

Tigertang has got the best answer, no matter if you make just a little money, or a lot of money, put 10% of your paycheck, everytime you get one, in a savings program, no matter what happens, come "hell or high water"!

For me the best way is to set it up so a certain amount of money goes into my savings account every month. I set the amount so I will not need it for regular expenses, and it adds up after a while. :-)

I am terrible about saving money. Right now the only money we save is our change. We are saving it for a washing machine. I am very tired of going to the laundry mat every week.
