I need to ask you....are you still as angry today ( as I am ) with the Fact that it has been two years , since Hurricane Katrina Slammed into the gulf-Coast , and our fellow Americans down there are in Dire need of Leader ship and Help and are receiving neither of these things , except from good law-biding individuals ???? This is America. Where is the Love ???? When I see the images of the horrific Damage down there....My Blood Boils !!!!!! This should have been handled 2 years ago ! I don't care what side of the Isle you walk on...this affects all of America! My Husband went to Help people down there w/ Money we couldn't afford ! But they needed it more , than us . I cry for people , whom I've never Met , because no Matter what....they are American. And to add insult to injury....we find out that the Casinos that ( by law ) were stationed just off shore ( Pre- Katrina ) were allowed to Rebuild on shore , where peoples homes and businesses once were , thanks in part to legislation that had been re-written ( post -Katrina ) Ensuring that these big revenue businesses would be allowed to thrive. Now I ask you....what kind of Message is that sending to the people of the Gulf - Coast region ???? That they don't even have a say in what happens? And people consistantly ask me why I " Bash " Capitalism....Look at the Facts tearing our country apart. I consider my self a true Red-Blooded American , because when I see something that I know in my heart is wrong...I question people in Authority. I demand answers , because that's what it's all about. Americans take a stand , even when the issue is highly unpopular. We need to Demand that this issue ( Katrina ) be settled once & for all. A.

The people of New Orleans spoke loud and clear in the last election. They relelceted Congressman William Jefferson, and Mayor Nagan. Mayor Nagan was complaining about President Bush not sending money down to help and the White House responded to him to fill out the paper work saying how the money would be used. Mayor Nagan reply was that we need xx Billion to rebuild. As I understand it the 9th ward is 10 feet below sea level and has levies to hold the water out. I think the American people need to have an accounting of how the 14 Billion that they have received in aid has been spent. How was all the money for levies and flood control that has been sent ther been spent. I read one report that stated that the Levie Board has a private jet, several private yahts, hotels and a Dome Sports Complex that have all been purchased or built with money for the Levies. That is not capitilusm but corruption. The people of NO and Lousiana keep relelcting the same people so they must be satisfied with what those people are doing.

I respectfully agree bobmmu ; however , that does not negate the fact that Mr. Bush did not come off of his Vacation untill Wednesday. 4 - Days after the Hurricane ( Katrina ) Slammed into Louisiana. As to the report which Documents / States that there are private Jets , Yachts , and Sports Complexes which are owned by Members of the Levie-Board.....I have not heard of this...Can you tell me the title and date of the periodical /paper in which this appeared as well as the Author? Regardless of how anyone feels about Mr. Bush and his promoting his business-partners under the guise of his Presidency...Mr.Bush's Legacy remains..... He " Owns " Katrina . His Leadership in those Critical hours was severely Lacking.

MSNBC did a report on the levee board a summary is at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9342186/ Another site is http://www.planetizen.com/node/18098 Some of the other items were mention in the reporting of Katrina when they were trying to fill time. The reporters need to check Federal Law. The Governor of the state is the only one who can call out the National Guard unless the President federlizes them for a national function. The same thing happened in Kansas when the tornados struck this summer. The Governor went on National TV and said the Federal Government was dragging its feet. The White House replyed that they can't move until the state asks for help and files a request. That done the military had emergancy supplies arrived within hours. This summer a bridge collapsed in Minneapolis. When the president visited he asked the Police Chief if there was anything he needed and the Chief said he could use some special Navy divers and equiptment. An aid gave him some forms to request the help and he received the help within hours. If you want the federal government to help you have to ask for it. They, the government, can not come into a state or city and take over.

Regretfully....Mr Bobmnu.....you cannot change my mind on Mr. Bush just as I will not try to Convince you , that not all Democrats act with nefarious intentions. We will just have to leave it up to the Voters in the '08 election. I will ; however , state this.....My side ( The Democrats ) has absolutely nothing to lose in the next election....; therefore , One must concede.... that this very notion is a very empowering motive for winning. ' Just out of Curiosity.....as I am inquisitive in Nature..... What has this administration done for you , which makes you defend it with such admired Conviction? I ask this of every one I know whom Defends this white-house. Because quite Frankly....I'm Baffelld.
