Who would your choice of President be for the 2008 election?

We really need some serious changes in Washington this time around. Our country is getting into a bigger and bigger mess. Iraq is dragging on with no signs of improvement or of our troops getting to come home. The economy is getting worse by the day. The cost of fuel and the cost of living keep going up, but wages stay where they are. Health care is not something most Americans can afford, and our education system needs strengthening and improving. So who would your choice be to start turning our country around, and why? So far I am finding it very hard to find a Candidate to stand behind.

Is anyone even sure there is even going to be an election? After all, the American constitution says the president can hold off elections until after the country is no longer at war. I have the sinking feeling that the moron is going to use that clause and just stay in office until he's impeached( which most of the rest of the world thinks should have happened soon after America invaded Iraq.)

You know, I had not even thought about that! Good Lord, but that is a scary thought. I certainly hope not. But assuming that there is an election, who would your choice be? We definitely need a change...

ABSOLUTELY not true. This conspiricy theory started at the signing of the National Continuity Policy . If you read it, no where in the document does it say anything about election cancelations. you should go to the whitehouse website and read the document itself. It talks about the government staying together in the event of a major high casualty hollocost and the and how to preserve the government structure in case of some such disaster, ie; nuclear war, gigantic east coast destroying tsunami, something of gargantuan magnitude. How a cancelation of elections was ever derived from reading this i will never know. heres a link to the document: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html

It happened during WWII. Check your history texts. I.m not American by the way, but I think Clinton has the best record and is respected by other world leaders

I agree we need some MAJOR changes in the leadership of this country, but who is the right one? I feel this country needs to get back the basics of what this country was fonded on. If we stop allowing every country to send their rejects and criminals and all the illegals tresspassors here and turn back to in GOD WE TRUST we would be better off. Now if we could find someone who will try to do the things that need done in this country, that would be good.

While I do have to agree with you, I don't really see that happening. Our government is too busy trying to get as far away from any reference to "God", "Religion", or even, "In God We Trust". They are taking the people's right to religion from all government controlled environments just as fast as they can. I really am not sure there is a "right" choice for our next president. At least not so far. Hopefully things will begin to look more hopeful by the time the election is actually here. I doubt it though!

If we do not find someone who is willing to put their money where their mouth is, so to speak, and stand up for the people, ALL the little people as well, put this country first not last and do what know is right and best for us all we are not any better off. I am including the whole congress as well as the man in charge. If they don't work together they can not accomplish anything.

I haven't heard any that I really like enough to support. I agree that Healthcare is a major problem, although I don't know what kind of solution they can come up with. We also need someone who will address the illegal immigration problem, the crime problem and the "if it feels good, do it" problem our society seems to have adopted. Hopefully, we will get someone in there that can make some changes for the better. !!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Early on I was leaning toward saying the same thing, but I have found articles and information that lead me to believe she is already lying to the American people and simply telling them what they want to hear. That said, while I realize that all politicians will do this - at least to a certain extent - she has not even won the nomination as of yet. So I can only believe that the lies will get worse. I find myself unable to trust her at this point. I realize that the media is well known for slinging mud, but one of the articles was written by a former aide to President Bill Clinton - I really can't see what he would have to gain by lying. Hopefully I will be able to find a candidate that I can stand behind and vote for - but so far, that has not happened. Thanks for the response.

I am not sure about any of them. Other than making speeches and doing what politicians do, what has Rudy done? The Firemen and the police did all the digging, as he conducted the orchestra. As for Hillary, she and her husband had us in their clutches for eight years and got by with murder. Why would we want to give them another shot at us. Do you really think Bill was the brains behind running the country then. I think he was too busy, and Hillary was in control then. Go to Arkansas and ask the people there what they think of either of the Clintons. I think it is time for someone new.

I have to agree with you completely that none of them can be trusted. I also am not sure of any of them. I definitely agree that Clinton would be a bad choice. However, as far as what any of them will actually do should they get in office, we only know what they say while they are campaigning. They will say what they believe will gain them the most votes and then change their attitudes once elected. There has to be a better way!
