There seems to be a conflict in a bible study with views on gambling. Some view it as a sin. Some view it as an interest like baseball, going to the movies Etc

I think it depends on the degree. Sometimes it can be just for fun, or for a good cause, but sometimes it can disrupt people's lives and take them over. As long as it does not come before God and what expects of us as good stewards of our blessings (i.e., money). This may be something that the group will have to agree to disagree about. If the arguing is getting in the way of the bible study, then the study has lost its focus on God.

All have sinned and fall short of God's glory. Glory is God expressed, when God is expressed then there is glory. Man is created for the purpose of expressing God, anything below this standard falls below God's quality-check. Anything that does not glorify God is considered sin. What unbelievers consider sinful, Christians should consider sinful. Only fallen Christians would have a moral standard lower than unbelievers. Many things are lawful but not all things are expedient.

Take it to a pastor and he will resolve it. It's okay to have different views but some you can not stray from. It is clear in the bible as to what the view on gambling is and they ones that are okay with it need to know the truth of what the bible says about it.

Well i was always taught that it was a sin, but i have noticed that in many churches now days they raffles off tickets to raise money for the church..That is fine, to try and make money for the church, however raffleing off tickets to win a quilt is also gambling..When the church has get togethers they will also have cake walks and to me that is gambling too..So if gamblig is a sin the things the church is doing would be considered a sin as well..So if the church believes gambling is a sin then they need to practice what they preach..I think addition to gambling is a sin, but i see no harm in buying a lotto ticket.I supposs that some things are in the eye of the beholder, if they feel that it is a sin then they should not do it,and if the people who believe it is ok, i supposs they should do it and ask God to convict them if it is a sin...Some times a certain thing is a sin for one person and not a sin for others, it depends on how addicted to it they are...
