I never get to have anything new (sigh!) because my husband can fix just about anything. We've gotten more years out of our now obsolete appliances than I care to think about. Of course, in the long run he has saved us a ton of money over the years.

Well it really depends on what it is and if it it fixable..if it can be fixed, my fiance will fix it, or try his best..if he can't get it fixed then yes it's tossed. Which he is usually good and fixing things.

depends on what it is-if it is a small appliance i will toss it if the effort to fix it is not worth it-but if it is a major-like fridge or stove i fix it

I usually try to fix it first. If that something is really cheap, it would save a lot of time to just buy a new one. If it's really expensive, I try to fix it or better yet, ask a professional. Sometimes I also ask for a friends help, who knows, maybe they know how to fix it.

If something expensive breaks,I'll try fixing it as many times as I can.If it still doesn't work,I'll get rid of it. If it's a cheap stuff that breaks,I'll get rid of it.

I try to fix it, if it's something I know I can't find anywhere, if not then I toss it, and try to find a replacement. If it's something replaceable and inexpensive then I buy another one.....

I try to fix things, but I am always vaguely disappointed in that thing afterwards, knowing that it isn't as good anymore.

It depends on what it is I have to try and fix. Like someone else already said, sometimes it is just cheaper to buy it than to try to fix it.

It depends. Usually I toss it because I'd rather have none than to have a broken one sitting around.

My hubby doesn't throw anything away. He's very handy and I've ended up using a vaccum cleaner that was made out of parts from several others. At the moment, the starter in my car is one he rebuilt from 3 others. Nothing gets tossed out if it can somehow be reused again.

i always try to fix it, even though my wife tells me to throw it away, i just love fixing things, i usually end up fixing 60-70% of what i try to, the rest after a long time and lots of tries ends up being binned.

I keep it so it doesn't get fixed or tossed. Everyone tells me that I am a pack rat. Which sometimes I agree because everything seems to be of great importance to me. I feel that if I toss it I may be able to utilize it at some point.

We usually toss it. Take too much to fix it and it is never the same again.
