Can sugar-free chocolate candy ever really taste good?

Several years back I purchased a small sugar free chocolate candy bar. And, the experience was not so good. It was like eating a piece of bark, literally! Of course, this was before they invented Splenda, so I'm sure when they said that it was sugar free, it was probably also Splenda free as well. I've heard that they've made improvements in the way sugar free chocolates taste and now use alternate sweeteners, but I'm not sure if they taste any better. If you've ever tried sugar free chocolates that actually taste good, please let me know, so I can try them too. And, if you have a particular variety that you like best, then I will try those first. Sure I'm on a diet, but that doesn't mean I should have to give up the most delectable food on the planet, does it?

Don't Think Sooooo what you say i think sugar can not be replaceable by any thing as its the natural resource and we can not replace it with artificial one.

My brother used to say that some of the sugar-free food was okay, but a lot of it tasted like junk, it was not very good.

no i have never tried sugar free and i can't think of it being any good. i would suggest going for a more finer chocolate its less sweet and you want less, real chocolate is so much nicer than the over processed stuff.

Taking chocolate with very light sugar is a bit of a feat but now I really don't mind it. Taking straight chocolate without sugar is also something, but I was able to stomach it, so I'm counting it as a victory.

I can't say I have yet come across any well tasting sugar free chocolate. I just think they crossed the line even trying to go there, LOL.

When you are not allowed to have sugar, anything that *remotely* tastes like sugar is good (to me). I like the good brands of sugar free chocolates. Some of the are really good. Russel Stovers is one that I really like. They do a good job.

I personally don't think sugar free or fat free anything can ever taste good to me. I would say it an "acquired" taste.
